What do you guys think? It seems none of his predictions are specific enough to give exact dates so none of his predictions can be prevented.... Still, it does give us some general idea of the way the world is headed, and from what I see it doesn't look too good...

I think it's too close to the event to be starting in on how Nostradamus foresaw it happening. Let people finish cleaning up, burying the dead, and getting their lives back together before you (general) start deciding that aliens made it happen or that Nostradamus foresaw it or that it presages the second coming of the one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater.

I'm sorry,I find Nostradamus to be pretty vague in his predictions. When 9/11 happened people were talking about him predicting that but it was so vague that it could have been anywhere really. If I recall correctly some of it was"in the new land in the city of york" and then something about "two brothers will fall in the new millenium" or something like that. All of that makes it sound like the "Twin Towers" but maybe it wasn't about that at all. He also wrote everything in code and in several different languages. If ya wanna go a little deeper..what about the book of Revelations? It says that when the world is coming to an end that there will be war, famine, and floods. Not to mention all of the other stuff in there. Well, all that stuff is happening right now! So my question is....how much longer does this world actually have?
IMHO Nostradamus was a crock!

Ever notice how none of Nostradamus' predictions make any sense until after the fact? Sort of defeats the purpose of prophecy.

The wave occurred because of an undersea earthquake. Tsunamis are natural effects of these, volcanic eruptions, or massive landslides. No more, no less. Tsunamis have been around a long time. Just as the Japanese. Nothing supernatural about it. People don't seem to understand that nature isn't just frolicking dolphins and happy sunsets. Nature doesn't work the way Wat Disney would have you believe. Some exceedingly nasty things frequently happen in nature.

I don't put much stock at all in prophecy. Heck, I don't put ANY stock in prophecy. See, they tend to be so vague that ANYTHING can be related to them.

I mean...there have been killer tidal waves crashing on shore and killing people since the beginnings of time itself. Of COURSE his prediction came true...because it's ALWAYS been happening, and will continue to happen. Same goes for prophecies as relating to wars and politics. Human nature is unsurprisingly predictable. And nature is consistent enough for me to know that, every year, there will be SOME grand natural distaster.
