From what I can gather, the US haven't started bombing, they are still waiting to see if the Taliban will hand Bin Laden over. But as the Taliban have indeed declared a Holy War against America, it's unlikely they are going to hand him over now. We can but hope.

I think I understand what a holy war means to the person declaring it. Why can't they see how unholy it is to the rest of the world? How Holy is it to bring utter death to your civilization?

I still would declare non-pagan if the life of my nation depended on it. I'd, for the most part, practice and know, in my heart and mind, my beliefs. I guess that's kind of where dharma comes in. I'd know what I believe. But I wouldn't have to declare it if it was my duty to live a different way. The universe would know.

news on the AP Wire this morning was that the Taliban is considering extraditing bin Laden under two conditions.

1. That he is handed over to another country other than the US (preferably a Muslim country).

2. That there is international recognition of the Taliban as the ruling government of Afghanistan.

Who are they kidding? This is completely unacceptable! Pakistan would only allow us to use their airspace, etc., if it is a "mulitnational" force.

Are they that afraid of us that they would insist that we have "chaperones"?

btw, news today is that someone did declare the Jihad but the council quickly undermined him saying it was up to the council and they are meeting later this week. Yeah, but they're always declaring holy wars. Every 5 minutes it's a new one with them. Any old reason really. The westernization of their native lands, the economic embargos against their nation, the last season of "Friends". They even declared a holy war when Wendys introduced the new chicken and bacon sandwitch. MORE HOLY WARS, BARKEEP. HEAP EM ON!!!!!!!!

What I saw on the ABC News last night (9/17) was that Bush told Afghanistan that they have 72 hours to turn over Usama Bin Laden or the U.S. will retaliate with striking Afghanistan.
