What does everyone recommend here for fiction novels? I mean with a pagan, "mystical" or "witchy" subject.

I have to read two books for school this year, and I've got to pick them soon.

I love Marion Zimmer Bradley's "The Firebrand." and I've heard that "Mists of Avalon" by her is good also, but I've yet to read it. :)

I've read Mists of Avalon, for my english class last year actually. It's a good read, I recommend you give it a gander when you can.

What is "The Firebrand" about?

I pick Lord of the Rings...and I think it's sort of mystical....it's sort of Pagany. You just have to really read it. ;)
It's got elves, dragons, magick....real good stuff.

Lord of the Rings is an excellent choice. I also enjoyed the Chronicles of Narnia when I was in school.

Some non-fiction stuff, I'd suggest "No One Here gets out Alive" the biography of Jim Morrisson.

I just finished Stone Maiden by Susan King a few nights ago. I was quite surprised with it. The cover looked like a bodice ripper type book but it wasn't at all like that.

Charles De Lint's Forest of the Heart & Somplace to be Flying & any of his books! And Elizabeth Cunningham's Wild Mother.

I think there was a thread on pagan fiction earlier. I'll see if I can find it.

Found it! Bumped it up for you.

The Wood Wife is good and a quick read

I would hold off on Lord of the Rings and the hobbit just becuase they are long and deserve at least the entire summer! :D

Also, harry potter books are great...but probably not for school..

But Wood Wife was good

Good luck
