Hi! I'm new to this forum, and to Wicca, for that matter. I'm not even sure if I should call myself "Wiccan" yet. I am 16, and first became interested in Wicca when I read my mom's copy of "Magickal Herbalism". She isn't Wiccan, and was brought up Christian, but she had an intense interest in the religion. I was raised Episcopalian, but was atheist until quite recently, when I learned, through the internet, more about Wicca.
Reading about it struck a chord in me. I have beliefs which parallel those of Wicca, but I never believed in a deity. I still don't believe in a true physical deity, but rather, I see the Goddess as something more than physical, something from which we are all born.
I have not yet told my family that I am Wiccan. However, they see me reading literature pertaining to it. If they asked, I certainly would tell them. I make no secret of it, yet I do not announce it.
I am also a vegan, and I am an activist for the rights of all beings, human and non. I participate in Amnesty International and service projects in my Women's Studies club at school.
I also read and collect tarot cards. I'm working on creating my own set featuring my own artwork.
I really hope to meet new people and learn more about this beautiful way of life. I admit, I am ignorant, but I hope to become less ignorant. ^_^
