Yesh, now... I was wondering. What do you wear if anything to represent your faith? That could not be mistaken for another faith... (Pentacles and pentagrams do not count. Ditto with Virgin Mary imagery, Crosses and Stars of David).
Ankhs, anyone?
I'm just wondering if there's any symbol other than the pentacle and pentagram that is common. For example, the symbols of initation in Wicca.
Cheers.

I think representations are subjective, but I have two favorite pairs of earrings: silver stars, and sapphire and aquamarine (also silver). Silver works best with my skin tone - but I also associate it with the moon and the element of water. I cleanse and (magickally) charge those earrings and a few other pieces on a seasonal basis - give or take...

I personally tried wearing a pentacle back in the day, but I became exhausted with having to give 20 something lectures a day.
I quickly replaced the pentacle with a piece of Goddess jewelry.
It is simply a silver figure, with a spiral on her stumoch, and she has her arms raised above her, holding a small triple moon symbol.
It's very pretty, and is very very spiritual to me- yet it doesn't attract all the attention and negativity that a pentacle will.
And the Goddess is indeed the the center of my spiritual beliefs.
Good luck...

I wear spirals above all other symbols.
One of the oldest symbols of Her, and the least noticed I find among non-Pagan folk....

i have the same as a ring. :floating: dunno about magical, but it sure is perty.
@rhys: yes, there is a symbol which is fairly common in pagan circles besides the pent, that would be the mjöllnir, however you, being "anti-asatru" as you are, (i seem to remember reading something along those lines, if i'm wrong then thwap me.) probably wouldn't want to know about it. but just in case you are curious, you can have a look at some here. http://www.dietraumschmiede.de/acc/mjoellniralle.jpg

I am a pantheist so I wear things that, to me, represent the interconnectedness of the universe. I have an adventurine ball with a sterling overlay so that it looks like the earth, circled by a silver braid. I also have a meteorite that I wear quite often, to remind myself that we are not isolated on this planet.
I carry a stone or crystal in my pocket, depending on my perceived need.

I wear an ankh...think I have a picture of that somewhere.
I found a bangle bracelet the other day that had Aset on it that I REALLY liked. And I'd like a bracelet or something with lotuses on it, as well.

I wear a triple Goddess symbol with a pentagram on the back (picture below). Very few people notice the moon phases on the edges. They think it's a round crystal for the most part. Only the very observant can see it. :shhhh:
When I come across someone who does recognize the symbol, I know they're at least Pagan-friendly, if not Pagan themselves, so we do the secret wink and handshake. (oh wait, that's the Masons . . . )

:kinda off topic:
I used to wear a half-inch silver pentacle on a silver chain, and I had to give the aforementioned 20 lectures a day to people who spotted it. Everybody recognized for a witch's symbol. Then I was given a gold pentacle the same size and traded in the silver one. Now people say, "I didn't know you're Jewish!"

I don't the two million questions, I wear a pentagram everyday. I don't wear any crystals, but I do have this little bag thing with stones in it that I bough my first trip to a New Age store.

I'm particial to wearing the triple moon.
Or I will settle for a triquetra or a tree of life.
I actually don't wear the pentacle. Might use it as a tool, but not as my symbol of belief.

I wore a Thor's Hammer that I wore on a leather lanyard that I rarely ever took off for like 7 years, but at an SCA event I was at, my gorget was struck by one of the other guys at fighter practice, and it broke.
The only other peice of jewelry I wear is a ring I got in Cairo with the symbol of the eye of ra on it.

I have a new peice to add! I'm not sure exactcly what it is. I did know, and now I've forgotten.
)O( it looks like that and it's over the top of a pentagram.
MIL gave that to me when I gave her a bag of healing rocks!
I added it to the necklace.

I tend to wear a lot of different things, since I'm a jewelry maker and can't have just one necklace... :p Spirals, knots, animals, pentacles...I wear a lot of different things.
The piece I get asked about the most? My Brighid's cross. It's either "What's that mean?", "Is that a swastika?, or "I thought you were pagan.".

lol I enjoy fearing Asatru, lol. Acutally, I have my reasons... the way muggles (lol!!!) take to the Elder Furthark (sp?) and go, "Look, this will protect me." lol... I like to explain to them that their precious rune is a sign of Evil and invokes Evil sprits. LOL it's fun. I know, I'm bad... but it's funny to see the looks on their faces. (sp?).

Liar, I have seen your ear!
I have a lot of various jewelery pieces that mean different things. One day I may wear an old rusted cheap cross that I got for memorising Luke 4: 18 & 19 in vacation bible school or I may wear a silver crescent moon with a face and a nude godess riding him. I may wear the giant cheapo Avon Sun earrings that pull my ears something fierce just because I am going to see the friend who had to get them for me. I have pentacle jewelery which I wear occasionally.
Some days, more often than not actually, I prefer nothing but my wedding ring. I would feel incomplete without it.

I'm not a pentacle feller. The pendant I wear is a circle, with a small abstractly leafy, or perhaps flame shaped bit rising from the bottom toward the center. It represents (note that the circle has long been a symbol of femininity) the Goddess to whom I am dedicated, as a giver of life and bringer of light.

Eeee! I'm getting one of these in the mail any day now!
I don't wear any visible overtly-Pagan stuff, but every day under a shirt I wear a Hekate pendant (the pewter one from sacredsource.com - not the Wheel, cuz I don't have it yet) and a big Bloodstone ring. The Bloodstone is a visual reminder of some spiritual stuff for me.

:) lol! Actually that was my first time, probably last too - lol. It was a good word for what I meant to say. lol, I love you Harry Potter (actually, it's quite the opposite). The word just sounded better than "Cowans" at the time, especially since I have an ex whose middle name is "Cowan", and a friend whose last name is "Cowan".

I wear a simple silver ring on the middle finger of my right hand, a silver band that squeezes itself (on the left side, to the top; on the right side, to the bottom) to twist into a Celtic knot (a simple one). A nice, shiny way to flip people off. ;) No, not really, but um anyway... Yes, I want two more silver rings (not the same obviously) for my index and ring finger of my left hand. *is obsessed with cool silver rings* Heh...

I just did the naughty and put a new piece on lay-a-way....
No, I shouldn't have.
Money is so tight this month I can barely afford to eat, pay the rent, and stay online. I've been job hunting for months and I am getting NOWHERE, but I saw this lil silver locket and it just SANG to me...
It's got a celtic penta on one side, with some knotwork, and the tree of life behind it, and on the back of it is the reverse of the tree...
I really liked the penta+TOL bit and well, the locket part will come in handy for spellwork....
I put like $4 down and I have six months to pay it off so I am hoping I can get there sooner or later.
I finally get a job, first paycheck I may pay it off to celebrate if the rent isn't due...

My "pagan" pendant - silver crescent moon on the nacre plaque.
But I don't wear it often. My regular paganish jewelry is just a plain wooden bindrune.

I wear a ring with a series of symbols on the band one being the triquetra, I also have a dragon pendant my best friend gave to me that I adore.
More than jewelry though I have a dragon on my ankle, a set of dragons on my shoulder and a celtic knotwork symbol of the shapeshifter on the back of my neck, so I wear my symbols constantly... jewelry is just icing on the cake to me I guess.
I wear my ring because when I saw it I knew it was mine, my pendant because it was a gift from a true friend who I love more than family, I don't wear them as a declaration of my faith so much as a declaration of me.

i wear a small pentacle, but there are many alternatives, such as:
goddess symbols
ankhs (but you already know about that one)
triquetras
celtic crosses (i know crosses are christian, but this works really well if you live in an uber-christian town, because it's a cross, but it's all mystical and celticky)
dragons,faeries, unicorns, etc.
alchemical symbols
trees
om symbols
moons and stars
and there are probably a million things that i didn't mention, the possibilities are endless! just be creative!

I've read ahead to post #48 and decided to reply. I wear a medicine bag instead of anything else. I've found it to be most convient to hold stones, runes, herbs, ect. It's a small bag so it can only hold a few things at a time. I know its not a common symbol but it's what I wear.

Hehe, everyone around here seems to love my sword necklace... Ive had to keep a close eye on it sometimes. Its a longsword with an ankh on it, my mother gave it to my right after I found my faith... and its very old, pure silver. I love it to peices and its one of the few peices of jewelry Ive seen that I can wear *besides what Ive made myself... that doesnt count*.
Funny thing is, alot of people mistake the sword for a cross, and the ankh for a celtic cross... its odd no?

I wear a waning moon pendant (it also has a triskelion on it) always, and sometimes there is another charm on the chain with it as well. Right now there is a piece of amber on it, but sometimes I have a rabbit charm or an isis charm, it really depends on why I am wearing a particular charm.

I am a jewelry whore... I have a goddess pendant for every occasion. I especially love the little ceramic Hindu goddess pendants. I have Durga, Kali, Tara, Sarasvati, Parvati... I also have a bronze Kali, two different silver Kalis, I have a beautiful gemstone goddess a friend made for me, my triple moons, a cameo goddess ring, a splendiferous bar pendant with little charms that when viewed together make up a triple moon. Then there's my tattoo, it's a heavily decorated henna style triple moon with the name of Kali in sanskrit in the center.

I have been searching high and low for some sort of Bowl of Hygeia jewelry, which would represent both my profession and my faith.
Unfortunately, all I've been able to find is this bow tie (http://www.beautiesltd.com/PRODUCT.ASPX?pn_deptid=4031&c1=feeds&source=froogle) , which isn't really the same. I guess I'll just have to go on wearing my moonstone for now.

My favorite jewelry is a silver coin-pendant with a skull on one side and a butterfly on the other. Neither is particularly religious on its own, but the combination is powerful (as death/resurrection/soul symbol). Also, I don't have to worry about whether my necklace has flipped over backwards again. :P
