Star Trek guide Julia Houston doesn't think it's unreasonable
to bring up "Star Trek" in trying to comprehend what happened
last week.
The future that the movies, books, and TV shows describe may
be closer than we all think; the "Gray War" is upon us.

Oh, God, Trekies are horrible writers and should not be allowed even near a keyboard!

Star Trek isn't known for making the hard decisions to make a better future... Star Trek is known for using neat technological tricks and creative solutions to solve problems. "We need to rescue a hostage from the Kazons? Well why don't we fire and inverse-photon flux from our main deflector dish while performing a site-to-site near-warp transport of the energy crystal, while having the tachion feedback bounce the pulse signal back to the ship!" The plot is 45 minutes of rising drama, then a catharsis coming from a techno-babble cop-out.

Really, Star Trek has absolutely nothing to do with the WTC incident. She should stick to Babylon 5 erotic fan fiction.
