So, did you want a seperate thread on this? I may have missed something.
My thoughts... It's *highly* individual! I occaisionally will do magick, meditation or a private Ritual under the influence. But to reccomend that someone else do so seems out of place for me. Take my mom for example: she nods off to sleep in the middle of a conversation if she has had a single, yes-one, glass of wine. Other's have come up with exceptionally intelligent, prophetic, or divine thought/experience after 2 or 6 glasses. I've seen it work (and not work) both ways. The single sip (or two) for cakes and ale usually seem fine for most people.
On a different thought...
We have a recovering alcoholic in the coven and a couple in the church. It can be difficult. Some have no problem with just taking a sip. Others, let's just say you can feel them tense up when the goblet/chalice comes their way. Some decline, other don't. That to me is quite personal. (It felt strange when a "recently decided alcoholic" was passed the chalice and everyone watched as that person kissed the chalice rather than drinking from it. But it felt good in a way too, like everyone was on his side.) You never know when you may be the one seeking support.
Ok. I've rambled on way too long. These are just some random thoughts and experiences. What are yours?
