For those of you who were saying prayers and sending energy for my friend who was missing...HE CALLED TODAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!! Thank you all!!!!!! He hadn't checked his email since the disaster, knowing that I was ok, and was concentrating on tracking down all of his friends who live in NY, to make sure that they were ok. He's fine. His family had some close family friends in the WTC....He had a cousin who worked on the 22nd' floor of the WTC..but the cousin was able to get out. And his ex fiance lived about three blocks away. She's ok, too. So...I repeat...My friend, Frank, is ok. Thank you all for your prayers!!!!!

I am so glad for you. Even though I live in the UK (South Wales) I too have been searching for someone. My penpal is a volunter firefighter and I have not heard from her. I will not give up hope, for without hope we have nothing.

do you know what department your penpal is a volunteer with? if she's anywhere near new york city she's likely helping with the rescue work. ( we even had a gbc on our local police/fire radio net for people to go to new york to help and we're 200+ miles from there.) new york city does not have volunteer fire fighters, only full time professionals so it's not likely she is among the too many dead in line of duty but, as above, probably working to save anyone that might still be left to save. and from a former volunteer firefighter (putney fire dept.) thank you for concern about a "sister".
oops, sorry, tradetalk, "gbc" = "general broadcast call" to all stations and units on the net.

he spent over a week trying to track down HIS friends, without letting his own know that he was OK and let them all worry about him? that is very selfish in a strange way.

exactly! I see what you meant Twilight, but he probably had so much on his mind that he didn't think to call them until he had a chance to calm down a little and let some of the immediate shock wear off.

Actually...I yelled at him after I cried thankfully that he was ok. LOL..his response was.."well..Jeannie..you are the ONE person that i KNEW was ok. You never go anywhere. And I know your family doesn't go anywhere near NYC..too.". And he's pretty much, right. He, on the other hand, knows MANY people from NYC...and many more who's families work in NYC. So they were his first thought. I understand it. Besides, I didn't have a current phone number to reach him at, so the only way I could contact him was by email. And he hadn't unpacked his computer yet..just immediately started calling everyone in his address book:)
Fuzzy logic, perhaps. But..that's the Frank I know...Fuzzy at best. And I love him just the way he is :)
