Where to start ????

I am very interested in the magical world but i have seen many sites that say diffrent things, I am interested and learning how to perform spells and etc.
basiclly i'm in search of a guide or information to get me started

I ordered this book "The Good Spell Book: Love Charms, Magical Cures, and Other Practical Sorcery"

I was told it's good for begginers, and has some good spells.
i have a question is Pagnism execly

Paganism is a group of religions that aren't Christian, Jewish, or Muslim. It includes Shamanism, Wicca, Witchcraft, Druidry, and several other paths. These paths often focus on a reverence for a God and Goddess, and often center on a kinship with nature and respecting all creatures of nature. You may wish to do more research on these paths and the belief systems, history, and myth behind them before endeavouring to do spells. Doing spells without a proper basis and consideration of magick and often religion may result in some bad responses to your spells (ie. them backfiring).

do you have a good syggestion as to where i should begin my quest.
by the way altough i am jewish i do not consider my-self religios, can this some how affect my spells

Well there's lots of info here at MW if you look through the threads. There are people who call themself Jewish Wiccans, etc. too around here, that practice some hybrid of Jewish beliefs and Wicca I imagine. There's also some basic sites to start out at, like the basic section of the Witches Voice. Click here (http://www.witchvox.com/) and read. The most basic sections (for newbies) are all the way at the bottom beside the label Chapters.

Some books you might want to think of checking out, again, are listed in the Books forum here at MW. :)

the idea of jewish-occult is quite strange though, but i'm not religios, to me the fact that i'm jewish is that parents are jewish and that about covers it, i only took part in1 jewish ceremony which the coming of age at the 13th year which renderes me responsible as an adult in life (merely tradition these days)

I've read the witches 101 on the witchesVoice site, i'm getting a better understanding of these things, thenks.
I also look in the Gods and Godesses section and i'm just tryin to found out as-much as i can.
