You can basically just pick up and move. Out of state drivers license will work til you establish permanent residence, then its just a matter of applying for a new one. Other than that, unless you have kids and are divorced etc, theres nothing to hold you back.

I recently moved from Pennsylvania to Illinois and basically MoonDragn is right -- you just find a new apartment and move into it. Remember to register to vote as well as dealing with the card title/registration/insurance issues, too.

Yeah, you just move. Get an apartment, get a job... It's much easier to do when you're fresh out of high school with no obligations.....

How do you go about moving to a different state. Just curious. I honestly dont think I can stand staying here my whole life (Michigan). I have seasonal affective disorder (or it seems like it). Right now where I am its exactly 0 degrees Farenheit. The city I live in is the second cloudiest city in the United States.
My point: how do you move to another state? What kinds of things do you have to do or can you just move? I think I am going to move to Tennessee (I have family and good friends there) after high school and maybe after college. But Im serious. I need to get out of here. Sure, Michigan is beautiful during the summer (the great lakes and all that) but the winter sucks!
yeah, just move. be sure you can secure a job/school or whatever, though, so you'll be all set - and a place to live! :p

Some apartments won't let you move in til you can prove you have a steady income. So having a job is definately a necessity. Reason I mentioned the divorce thing is because some people who have kids are only allowed to move within a certain distance from their ex-spouse because of visitation rights.

Hey there Scarlet  How's your friend doing with her situation? Things get any better for her? Just curious.
As for moving out of state, it's pretty easy if you're of legal age to do so. If you're wanting to move before then, you'll need your parents consent. They (your parents) will also have to file a Power of Attorney for the adults who will be responsible for your care. I won't go into details about that, just wanted to let you know ;) As for moving when you're an adult, it's no biggie.. like ppl here have said: secure a job, a place to live and either a car or make sure you have some form of transportation, and you're all set. Might help to get a job and save some moving cash and a little extra for emergencies too, well in advance of your move. Anyway, good luck to you. Hope you find the happiness you're looking for. :)
