My friend came by the other day and saw my books on Wicca/Witchcraft/Paganism ant other books of that sort and he asked me what they were for. So I told him , being good friends, that I was practicing Witchcraft. Oops! Since he is Christian, he kept telling me that Witchcraft is bullshit and that at least PART of it has to do with the "Devil". So we had a big argument about it and finally he said that Christianity was the ONE TRUE RELIGION and all others are wrong!! And then later that day my brother comes home while I was reading the book A Community of Witches, and tells me the exact same thing BUT my brother is not sure what he is! Now, I'm sure most of you have had the same expirience or close to it. How did you deal with it?

I bumped a few threads on coming out of the closet back to the tops of thier forums in the hopes that they may help. There are some more and I know of at least one in Pagan family that I didn't find offhand. If these don't help at least a little I can look for some more for you.

It's funny you should mention that.......I've worked with several super Xian pilots. For the most part they are ok.....however I got one that told me that I was going to hell! I laughed and told him that I couldn't go to a place that I didnt believe existed......and if I did I'd see him there. He proceeded to tell me the samething that there's only one true god, and we'd all pay for not believing in him. Anyway this guy has been married and divorced three times, LOL. He's got no room to talk about whose going to hell and who isn't, LOL.
Yanno I've never had a Muslim(NOT Nation of Islam) or Hindu, or Jew come and try to convert me. It's always Xians telling you that your life isn't right because you don't believe as they believe. Yanno even if the Muslims,Hindu's and Jews believe you're going to hell they leave you in peace to be who you are. Xians aren't satisfied until you become who they want you to be, and it makes me violently ill.

Hmm....I always found it interesting that Christianity was a religion that came out of nowhere...that it popped up so much later than all (or many) of the other religions and for that they were made fun of, thrown to the lions and such...Persecuted, if you will. Yet now they do the same to those who did so so long ago. To me, it doesn't make much sense that though everything but Christianity was here first, somehow Christianity is "THE ONLY right one". Hmm...
I'm a Christian at heart, it's always what I've felt inside, but I don't go to church or believe in all the mumbo jumbo that organized religions seem to teach. I believe that everyone is right in their own way. That whatever feels closest to their heart is right. No one is "wrong". It just doesn't make any sense to me. I don't like to see Christians bash other religions (though it's not all Christians). And I don't like to see people of other religions bash Christians either (though it's not all people of other religions). *sigh* Probably one of humankind's biggest flaws is a closed mind. And I don't mean every human, I mean humans in general.
...Just thought I'd add...

Some Christians (there are no xians) may feel that way, but not all. Painting a path with a broad brush does no good.

I'm sure Willow didn't mean this to turn into a Christian bashing. (correct me if I'm wrong Willow) Just wanted to share her experience with a close minded person who HAPPENS to be Christian.
Willow, I'm sorry your friend and brother said those things to you. I haven't had any experiences like that yet for the simple fact that I'm in the broom closet and don't know if I'll ever come out... (I think someone locked the door) :) I hope they can open their eyes and hearts to you in spite of what happened and what they think of Witchcraft.
