Collage art anyone?

Hi. I was wondering if anyone does collage art? I bought the magazine, "Somerset Studio" (I think that's what it was called) awhile back and -gods there was some beautiful stuff in it.

I love collage art! Somerset Studio is a great magazine. The stuff they show in their is really artistic and beautiful, unlike other magazines where everything just looks so crafty and tacky... the stuff in there is so creative! Two issues I really liked were the ones on Ancient Rome, lots of stuff involving all the gods and goddesses; and the one devoted to art journals. I'm a painter myself...mostly abstract modernistic stuff. Collage lets me add a level of realism to my designs.

Anyone else do this kinda stuff? I was really inspired by some of the stuff I saw in this magazine...even my BoS is a collection of handwritten pages and artistic collage...:lol:

I'd love to see what other people are doing with it. :D

I havent done collage in a long time, kind of miss it. so I dont have any to show.

But now that it was mentioned I may try to put some in a mixed media painting.

Cool! I'd love to see everyone's stuff! If I canever get to a scanner at work one of these nights, I'll scan in some of mine too. :D

I don't know if this counts, but I am planning on making a journal for my best friend this Xmas. She's pregnant and I got the idea out of a craft book I have. Anyhoo, I'm going to cut out pics from the magazines & some pics of her and "collage" them together on the cover of the journal. Does that count?

Of course it counts! :lol: That's actually how I did the cover of my journal... :D

I haven't done collage in awhile, either. And now that you mention it, I've been slightly neglectful of my BoS! Shame on me... But life has been quite topsy-turvy... I've been using my will power to not buy cigarettes and not pull my hair out.

Anyhow, this has given me something to think about!

LOL! I know what you mean...I've just gotten back to spending some quality time with my BoS. I'm working on a collage right now though. It's gonna be a present for Yule. If I /ever/ finish it, I'll post it here so you can see! :lol:
