View Full Version : A thought

You know how there are these different religions and different Gods and Godesses? Well, I was thinking that maybe all the Gods and Goddesses live in a BIG house and haneg out together and tak about the way Their lives are going. Like, the Christian God and The Horned God talk and play pool and stuff. Cause there are so many different religions, right? Or do you think this is just and insult on Them? Just a thought.

Not an insult.

Everyone has their own beliefs and opinions.

That's funny. Because sometimes we joke around and say that we hope our God/desses of Rapport (what some would call matrons or patrons) are enjoying their daily soaps! :D

It would certainly give new meaning to the show "All My Children".

I tend to think that they're all "aware" of each other but maybe "living" in seperate places "up there" somewhere. They all know each other exist and they just come out when someone calls on them. Then go back and tell all the other Gods/Goddesses what they did for us little humans. :)

LOL -- "All My Children" 8O 8O

This is the true story of an infinite number of deities picked to live in a house, work together, and have their lives pondered by mortals. Find out what happens when Gods stop being polite, and start getting real.

That's what this thread reminded me of, anyway. :D

If they made a reality show out of it, I'd watch it!!

oy loopy, you've been watching too much reality tv ;) hehe

I agree with Margie. I think they are all aware of each other and interact, but don't necessarily live in the same "house" - of course, I guess they could do that on occasion too :)

Heh. I watch too much tv in general. :)

I agree with Margie too.

For instance, I think water Gods like Poseidon reside in the ocean instead of with the other Gods, but I definitely think they're all aware of each other.

Everyone has their own opinion of 'God'. There must be more than a million faces to the contempory 'God'. Now it is my belief that all of these Gods and Goddesses are one. I mean, I worship specific forms of this one, uneversal power, and each form is unique and different. But all I'm saying is that when Kali goes home after a long day of ass smitein', I believe she will... just... meld into whatever lump of diety is sitting up there. Am I as confusing as I think I am? I'll be quiet, then...

I don't think you're confused. I can definitely see something like that happening.

The best analogy of how Wiccans look at Deity is the famous example of the diamond. We think of Deity rather like an enormous diamond of many facets. Each facet is beautiful in and of itself, and can be used as a way to access the heart of the diamond, but in reality each is only a different way of looking at the same stone. Thus when the Devotee speaks to, say, Sekhemet, they are in reality using a personal form to access a Universal power. The reason we need such personal forms is that we build our bond with Deity through emotion. All of the abstract understanding in the world will make no difference to you if you cannot connect to it emotionally -it will seem dry and empty, striking no resonance in your being.

Thanks to http://www.witchschool.com for the quote :)

BUT If all of them are up there and are aware of each other, why would God/Jesus of the Catholic religion falsely tell their followers that there is only one God and not to worship anyother "false" Gods?

Who says he did?

Humans wrote the bible, not God.

Yuppers. When you look up, look waaay up, you can see it through the clouds. It hurts the eyes, however... so be careful. Sometimes some will ooze off and drip right down and hit you in the face...

This is going to sound very, very, very un-religious, but here goes-- what if there is no Goddess or God at all? What if all these energies that we feel simply come from the inside? What if, altogether, it is just self-fulfiling prophecy and there is really no Goddess and God, just a pile of myths humans have come up with?

Because... just look at the sky. Can you honestly believe that of all those millions of galaxies out there, everyone, alien or not, believes in this concept? I sometimes have to wonder... And it hurts to think that all these wonderful things that have happened to me since I discovered the religion of Wicca and witchcraft are just figments of my imagination.

Besides, now they're saying that NASA may never have landed on the moon at all... which may prove that there IS the Goddess up there...

Sorry for the contradictory statements. :(

in light of that "what if" *smiles

what if, there was just TRUTH, and then the truth was shown to everyone, but in such a way that would relate to thier culture and reflect thier own society.....

what if........all opinions here were true

what if they were all false..........

what if one day we all found out......

look within your hearts.....open your mind......allow for possiblilty

why cant truth be truth for one and truth be true for another....
so yeah, mabey they do shoot pool together, or mabey they are all looking at the BIG MESS we have made and are shaking thier heads saying, MY GOD WHAT HAVE WE DONE ............
what now!?! shall we try to understand with our minds what was meant to be understood with our heart and soul???

I really, really love this idea. Now I'm gonna have an image of Them all in a huge brilliant house, gossiping, and watching everyone on earth going around.
