What tradition, philosiphy, or whatever do you follow? I would have posted a poll, but I can't even begin to imagine how many different styles are out there.
Just post what you practice, and maybe a short expination.

I am a Chaos Magician

Chaos Magick rejects the traditional discrimination of magick into white, grey, and black. It is a highly individualistic approach to the interplay between ethics and personal will. Chaos Magick is more properly a form of sorcery with strong shamanistic tendencies than of the ceremonial magick with which it is often associated.
Few things are consistent in Chaos Magick, what is true one day can be false the next.

So, I showed you mine, you get to show me yours :)

Very interesting Night Fire.
I am eclectic. I know, I know, that is such a blanket term. I refer to myself as a kitchen witch. I use what ingredients I have available and create my own unique recipes. Thats my definition...LOL. I've studied Celtic, Wicca, some Native American shamanism, and have developed an interest in Pow Wow magick. I also am researching Appalachian folk magick. Basically, I study a lot of different traditions and then use the knowledge in my own way. I'm not into alot of ritual set up. I tend to do my workings as the Goddess inspires me. I do firmly believe in "intent not content" since most of my best workings are without any tools and spur-of-the-moment. I don't divide magick as black/white/grey but as constantly keeping balance. Thats my personal path as a kitchen witch. :D

Interesting topic. I bet there will be tons of different responses here.

I really have no idea what I'd classify myself as. I guess, as of right now I'm a Wiccan. I do obide to the Rede and other Wiccan moral codes. However as of lately I've been very drawn to Italian Witchcraft (Strega) and the Goddess Aradia which might lead me a bit away from my Wiccan roots. But since Strega and Wicca are similiar, I guess I could mix them both.

HI Night Fire ~~~(((Feather Hugs))~~~
So nice to see you posting.........
I am a Cottage Witch..... because I do indeed live in a cottage.... and I practice whatever the cat drags in.......:shift: but you have heard this before .........:sunny:.
I tend to try and not label what "kind" of magic I do .. lately I am just calling it Natural.... because it seems so natural ..... and nature has structure and unstructure......
and is pretty inclusive..... I try to stay away from linear thinking on this one...... or boxes bubbles or categories......
Astrology has been my magic ( and a really good cover) for so many years..... and actually there is a long history of Astrological MAgic that isnt exactly "covered" in the current I think even the great and powerful Isaac Bonewits may have left it out of his recent history ... hehehe magical histories......so star magic is one of my magical treasures ........among some others.........but I think we practice that with which we are already attuned .......
( OK PLug Astrology Magic into the search engine) :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
anyway thanks for asking and LOVE to the FAMILY

Well, I have no label for my practise. I enjoy creating many aspects of my path myself. I read everything I can get my hands on, experiment, and develop techniques from what I learn- I'd simply say I practise a form of high magick. However, I'm not ceremonial. People generally don't think that's possible until I explain my beliefs in detail. High magick to me is simply a focus on elevation of the mind and spirit.
I've studied chaos magick. I agree that "belief" is a tool in achieving an effect and is not a conclusion in itself- as one chaos magician wrote. Beliefs of certainty may constrict and restrict, in my opinion. I've searched some choas "ideas-" that the universe may not exist upon material causality (everything that happens must have a cause), the idea that there is no free will, only apparent randomness, and also the idea that we are all a collective "force" with separate, stochastic personalities. I'm still searching now and it's an interesting journey.

Me? A dash of green witchcraft, a sprinkle of ceremonial, and sometimes even a pinch of hoodoo, or native american shamanism, dragon magick, or even some old fashioned gypsy folk magick. :)

Hmm.....I guess you can say that I practice a mish-mash of Celtic, Wicca & Green. Celtic & Green being the more dominant of the group. If that makes any sense at all. Like many others who posted, I just do what I feel. If it feels good, I do it. If not, I don't. Pretty simple I guess. :elf:

Like many before me in reply... I'm not sure. I have an answer that I usually use when asked something like this. I'm a sorceress with religious beliefs that do not fit into any single religion. :shift:

You can find more info on Chaos Magick here:

This deals mostly with the (Z) Cluster but has great links to other Chaos Magick sites.

There sure is a lot of Greenies here!
I'm pretty much Wiccan, and I follow Green Craft and toss in a bit of Kitchen Witchcraft. Currently I'm trying to develop my own family tradition to pass on to my kids... (couple years down the road yet still!) It'll probably be a pretty folk-y, Green, Wiccan-ish type trad.
