Hey everyone.
I hope someone can help me.
For some reason I can not get my meditation right no matter how hard I try.
Are there certain meditation technics that are better than some?
Or where could I go to find other ones?
I am busy using the meditation from Raymond Bucklands "Complete Guide to Witchcraft"

what works for one person may not work for another. I"m still working on this myslef, but the important thing to remember is that its takes alot of practice and works better when you do it on a regular basis. Keep trying. It'll come. That's what I'm doing. _whistle_

What kind of meditation are you practicing? The type where you still your mind, and focus on your breathing? Guided/Visualization meditation? Moving meditation? There are lots of different types of meditation to focus on.... which kind are you having issues with? :)

Mindfulness meditation is a very simple meditation. This has excelent directions: http://www.shambhalasun.com/Archives/Columnists/Sakyong/SakyongJan00.htm
One of the biggest things to remember with all meditations is that they require practice. You must be patent with yourself. Bring your mind back where it belongs. This isn't something that you do and you're done....

for me, personally, i have a hard time with breathing tecniques. as i try to consentrate on breathing in and out, the pattern bothers me... like a consistant ticking clock in my ear or something- and i end up holding my breath.
lol it sounds as if you have this part down though. perhaps you can try to visualize once you get your breathing down. there are even tapes that you can get that guide you threw a meditation. they are used more for calming and relaxing, but perhaps you would find them useful.
i doubt any of that helped but good luck and take care. *hugs* :bubbles:

Meditation is stilling your mind. If that's what you're doing, you're doing it properly. I'm not sure what you mean 'what to do after that.'

step one: throw away the book
step two: find a space where you can Be alone
step three: remember to breathe. longer and slower is better
step four: start small, work up to big. try five minutes at a time
step five: make like a nike commercial and just do it. there is no right and wrong that you're being graded for. you will find the place of stillness.
step six: when you think about the laundry you haven't done yet, don't worry about it and start over.
