What are wands good-for?

found an online store that sales wands with like special energy stones and other special matterials, i wanted to ask what is the real use of a wand, (maybe it's like in harry potter? ;) , ofcurse not just kiddin))

Merry Meet! A wand is used for drawing sacred emblems in the air or on the ground and also used when invoking deities. Some people use it for directing magical energy, but I like to use my athame for that. I do not use my wand much, but have it on my altar to represent air (and in some other traditions it represents fire). Also, wand and staff can be interchangeable! Hope this helps.

I don't use my wand much either. I bought it because it was purtty-- it's all crystal with a pewter dragon on top-- but it's waaaay too small and delicate-- I'm afraid I'm going to break it every time I pick it up. So mine's there mainly for decoration, and should I ever need it for anything, there it is and all.

It was also ridiculously expensive, so I can't bring myself to trade it away or anything. :)

yes, i know that is used to syncronise out energy whaile condycting a spell, do you know of is it suppose to be made of, maybe you can give me a site of some special omens or crystals that are used to make it.
I found an inline store that sales it but i think id rudicules to buy somthing like this without seeing it.

They're made of all sorts of things! :) Wood from trees, or crystal, topped with gems, beads, feathers, anything.. whatever holds meaning for you works. :)

There are lists around here with magickal properties of stones and colors and stuff (there are some at http://www.willowraven.com) if that helps. :)

I have a crystal wand that my sister-in-law bought me for my birthday years ago which I like to use with my other crystals. When cleansing my oracles I set up a grid of crystals around the oracles and use the wand to "activate" the grid by drawing lines of energy from crystal to crystal. That's rather basic description, but it's hard to explain. It works quite wonderfully!

I have also used wands varying from crystal to wood, to cast a circle, and I have an amethyst and clear quartz healing wand which I have used to clean my aura and balance the chakras in the past.

I think they have a great amount of uses :)
