With the announcement of mystic wicks site hosting that I received in my email today, I was wondering if anyone else would find this valuable. I've been meaning to write a database driven web application to store and retreive information about tarot readings. At least initially, it would allow me to enter readings that I perform into the database so that the persion for whom I'm reading could retreive it later from the web at any time and not have to worry about storing a personal message or anything like that. Plus, it would help with follow ups for me because then I wouldn't have to store a million and one word documents and could index a reading based on the user name of the person for whom I read.
Was also thinking, though, that it could be useful for other members who wanted to use something other than personal messages. So mystic wicks members who want to provide readings for others could sign up and then people who want to request readings would do so through the application rather than by posting messages to the tarot board. Then, those of us who read could be notified by email or maybe by personal message that someone has requested a reading and we could respnd in kind. Lastly, if someone wants a specific reader to provide another reading they could find us and contact us through the application rather than through the boards again.
So, I'm thinking that it could:
Allow readings to be entered into a database for later retreival. Readings could be made public or private so that either everyone could see them or just a few specified people.
A list of readers could be maintained onsite so that people looking for a reading could see whose available to provide a reading.
Readings could be "sent" to other readers for a second opinion either with or without the original reader's interpretation.
If you've requested a reading, you could find the person(s) who read for you in the past and request a reading from them personally as a follow-up.
If you want to request a reading you could do so through the new application rather than by posting to the board.
If you all like the idea, then I'll PM mol and see if we can set it up as a mystic wicks hosted site and I'll get started on it in my spare time (ha!). Plus, if you have any other ideas, let me know.
And, if no one thinks this is worth it (which is fair) I'll just do it on my own website anyway!
Blessings,
~D~
