GLENDALE, Calif. - A commuter train smashed into an SUV left on a crossing by a suicidal man early Wednesday, derailed and crashed into another train, authorities said. Ten people were killed and more than 100 injured.

That's horrible. If the man wanted to die, why didn't he do something where he wouldn't risk taking others with him? It's okay to kill yourself but not okay to kill other people.

Edited to add: I just learned that the suicidal man did not die--he escaped without injury--and will be charged with 10+ counts of murder.

Dam, that's why standing on the tracks works best. SUVs are just to safe these days. Not the way he planed, but his life is over.

erg i heard about this shortly after it happened this morning (i wake up at 6am). very sad. i'm alright, i don't use the train system.
