I'm going to start a daily draw to get some learning and discussion going on in here! Grab your own deck, find the card that I drew, and tell everyone what you see, how you feel, what it means to you, etc. Tell us what deck you're using, and if the name of the card is different. (For example, the Devil is Materialism in the Connolly deck. Pentacles could be Coins/Disks/etc...)

Deck: The Housewives Tarot
Card: Queen of Cups
Notes: To me the Queen of cups has always been a woman of great intuition, a helper, a guide. She's not so much a mother figure as she is a counselor. In this deck however, she's pointing at herself as if she's saying "I've helped you, now what can you do for me." Perhaps this is a reminder that it's good to help others and give of yourself, but if you aren't taking care of yourself you'll soon fall apart!!!

ARGH! I just wrote out this big response but then my computer froze before it could be submitted! *sigh* Ok so the short version is I am using Crowley's Thoth. I also saw in her a helper only she expects you do your own part first, and also that first you have to overcome your own stubborn-ness and ego to be able to accept the help. I think there was something else but I don't remember. I'm going to sumbit this now before I freeze again...

I hate it when that happens! I've written long ranting posts only to have them eating by the cyber-gremlins... grrr....

Excellent insight! I used to read with the Thoth, though I no longer have the deck.

Deck: Tarot of a Moon Garden

In my deck she is not pointing to herself, but holds the cup and looks off to the distance as if she is above this world. She looks very peaceful. Usually when I do readings, if I draw a Queen of the Minor Arcana, she represents a person in the reader's life. So, if I drew this card in a spread, I would interpret it as representing someone who is an intuitive, peaceful, or serene influence on the questioner's life or these qualities in themselves or others. Or possibly the need to develop these traits in themselves, or their importance to their life at this point.

I'm not too sure, haven't done readings in awhile, but am looking to get back into it.

Robin Wood Tarot

This Queen of Cups is sitting in a large seashell holding the cup in her right hand. The cup is covered by a translucent cloth, and the Queen's expression is a very regal one. Here is a woman who has a great appreciation for art and beauty. She understands her emotions and the emotions of others. She is gracious and graceful. Perhaps she seems a bit "removed" at times, and she does rely on her intuition and her own "psychic" gifts to guide her. This is a card that I usually read as being about the need to be healthy in how one expresses their feelings towards others. There needs to be a balance between giving another person emotional support/nurturing them and smothering them; or a caution against giving so much to another person that you have nothing in reserve to meet your own emotional needs. The key to maintaining this balance is to listen to you intuition and instincts and follow accordingly.
