okay hehe, I'm starting another frivilous thread. Don't run away yet, finshing readin this post first, if you please.
I am thinking of changing my name on here, parly because the name "Rhys" is just a name I take. I was never baptized or anything of the sort under anyname. My birth certificate has my English name on it, they refused to accept the Cymric (Welsh) proper form. Ghr!!!
Rhun Sîarl Gwynedd is my actual personal name, equivalent to "John" in "John Smith".
I like to replace the Rhun with Rhys, partly because I can - but lately it feels like I'm wearing a mask.
Gwynedd is the name of the North Western-most kingdom of Wales, which is believed to have been the most powerful throughout medievil history. Gwynedd means: gwyn-edd. Gwyn meaning Holy or White. and -edd meaning "of the".
Rhun is the name of one of the sons of the Cymric Gd Beli. It is pronounceed "Rr-ee-n" in phoneticish English.
Anyway, so my choices for my new name on here are:
Rhun
Gwyn
I don't want Gwynedd, because it is confused with Gwyneth (since they have the same pronounciation)... and Gwyneth is a female's name. Besides a lot of people already call me Gwyn.
So! Rhun or Gwyn. Pick pick!
