An identity thief stole nearly half the money out of my account. Now I have to wait for the bank to get it back for me - I'm barely surviving as it is on 606.00 a month, eeeeeek!! :blushake: Very frightened of what this could mean in the future!(I have business online - no way I can possibly avoid using my card!) Just looking for a little sympathy, I suppose...

that's not cool at all. Maybe there is some kind of insurance available from the bank to you when things like this happen? You could also work some magick to catch the robber.

Usually when things like this happen they're really good at getting your money back. I hope that's the case with you!
There is software you can install on your computer that will encrypt your typing (and your passwords) to make it much less likely someone could do that. Another thing... it takes a little effort, but use different passwords... especially when it comes to your money!
Edit: That was a reply to the other thread; I didn't realise there were two. :hugz: I hope it all goes well.

Yeah, I'm *still* waiting for my rent-money to come back!! I'll ask my sister the computer-expert about the software. Also, I am going to use "disposable" (pre-paid) CC's from now on - I *have* to order things online, no choice, but I don't have to have it be something vulnerable to thievery!!
I don't know if they're even going to *try* to catch the person - ID theft is SOOOOOOOO difficult to follow up on & prosecute. I'll be very happy just seeing my rent back. I'm VERY lucky that a very nice friend of a friend is in charge, & she said "don't worry about it". VERY reassuring!! Thanx for the encouragement!

That just sucks! A couple weeks ago, someone got a hold of my credit card number and tried to charge $800 worth of Dr. Martins and another $600 worth of electronic equipment. Luckily I happened to catch the first charge before it even posted, so the card company flagged my account and called me when the other popped up. I was so thankful they didn't have my bankcard number and have a chance to drain my bank account - it's much harder to get your money back from the bank. The card company just took the charges off my account and opened a new one.
Danubhe, I hope you get your money back and soon.

Ooh geez, just what I DON'T wanna hear! I don't know what's gonna happen now - I still can't pay my rent! The manager is a friend of a friend & VERY nice. She just said "Don't worry about it"! Oh the headache - quite literally at the moment!

:hugz: I hope the banks do the honorable thing and pay you back what that (insert bad word here) stole from you. Identity theft is tough to deal with. Usually banks and cc companies will help you out, struggle tho it may be initially.

Hehe, you have the words to the ol' song in the wrong order - it's the love you take is equal to the lovvvve you make... Honest, swear ta gods & goddesses! ;) To think that song is about as old as I am - V-day B-day coming up, ugh!!! Just call me a "flower-child"...

AHHHHH!! Sorry, I didn't want you to feel worse! Should have chose my words more carefully. Mega hugs and squeezes from me!! Luckily you've got a great manager who is flexible. I really hope the bank gets the money back for you soon...
