ok, i need some help...

Recently, out of the corner of my eye, I keep on seeing figures dressed in black capes, just briefly. They don't actually *do* anything, they just stand there, and they don't seem to be helping me in any way...no-one I know or love has ever died (i count my blessings every day), and I seriously don't know who these people are, they freak me out. I think one's a man and one's a woman, but I'm not actually sure how many of them there are.

Ideas anyone?!?

Does the Male figure also wear a Hat??? I know it sounds wierd. But when I was a child, i used to see a shadow on my wall, of a man dressed in a cape, with a top-hat. Of course, I was really young, so thought it was the Devil. Now I don't believe in the Devil anymore. Anyway...oddly enough, I'm not the only one who has had visions of this entity. A Friend of mine I went to college with, had just returned from Italy to attend her Grandmothers Funeral. She asked me about a vision she'd seen in the cemetery....a vision of a shadow of a man dressed in a cape, with a top hat, and cane. Three years later, I was in a pool hall.. I met a guy and we started talking about the Warrens, a duo of "Ghost Hunters" from CT. He told me that they had tried to "Excorcise" his ex girlfriends house (a NOTORIOUSLY haunted house in My old town), and failed. The spirit that haunted it? A shadow of a man in a top hat, a cape, and a cane. Apparently, THIS vision..got a bit personal...and there was a lot of violent poltergheist phenomena in the house. They feel it was unleashed when his GF used a Ouija board. The Warrens Failed, and the couple fled to Germany, for a while, to escape the Spirit. Now, they're both in America again, but sold the house, and split up. That same year, I was talking to a friend of my BF at the time, who owned a comic book store. His sister had been reading a lot of enochian magick books (and this is NOT a bias against enochian magick...I have no problem with it. I just think that she was predisposed to negativity in her life, and probably drew some negative stuff towards her..maybe by not being careful with what she messed with.)....and started seeing...you got it...a man in a Top Hat, a Cape, and a Cane. She had to be put in a psych ward for three months..they called a priest, and had the house excorsized, but she claims that "it" followed her around everywhere. The SAME year, I was having a cigarrette break at work, and the woman I always took my breaks with said..

"Hey..you're a witch, right...?? You might be able to answer this question.". She went on to tell me that her daughter was riding the school bus home from school one day, and at one of the stops, she saw the shadowy figure of a man dressed in a top hat, cape, and a cane, standing slightly behind a tree. It quickly vanished as soon as the children started to disembark from the bus, though. Right before her eyes.

I find it odd, that in ALL of these circumstances, the people came TO me with their stories of this...entity. I did not go taking a poll, or bringing it up regularly...THEY brought it up. So...I think this spirit gets around. I'm not sure WHAT his purpose is, or WHERE he comes from. A few of these people have provided me with theories, one even providing me with a name, which I was told NEVER to say out loud (ok..i know it sounds hokey..but I swear..these stories reallllllllly were told to me). Someone said he was what is called a Watcher. He doesn't seem like the Watchers I have heard of in Magickal circles though. Some people say he is a Spy for Satan.....(cough) I don't believe in Satan though. So I really do not know WHAT he was. ALL I know, is that all of these people were afraid of their experiences with him, and that when I was a child..I was terrified of him too. I used to go to sleep with a bible under my pillow at night, because I thought it would protect me. He never harmed me. Or some of the others who he appeared to...Only two of them ever "Tussled" with him.

I don't know if any of this helps..but it may just help to know that you are NOT the only one who has experienced visions like this. I would reccomend burning some Sage and some Dragonsblood in your room. Getting some Rose Water, and sprinkling the room, And burning a black and white candle in the room which he appears. I mean..to me, it is always better to be safe than sorry, when dealing with spirits.

wow! that story is really freaky! but...no top hat. They seem to be more monk-type people, but not monks, a bit uuuuuuuh, more sinister (if ya get what I mean) than monks. Thanks for the advice, i'll try it all out! I havent' seen them for a few hours now, but I'll be on the look ouut...:):):)

Suggestion/question: Have you tried talking to these figures? I know it might sound simple, but they could be trying to get your attention, however gently. Maybe the first step is to directly acknowledge them.

Yeah... I get that kind of thing with my cat and friends Or its usually fairies. Usually when I experience ghosts/spirits I can just sence them. I have a sinister thing that Ive had since I was little that just kindof looks down on me and kindof growls. I guess I just block it. I try to forget about it. They give me the creeps. This may sound really stupid, but on Sailor moon theres a guy like that has the same decription, cain, cape and top hat and sailor moon is connected to the moon (duh) and becomes Selene and isnt there a Selene in some trad? Selene = Greek Moon Goddess ... that is pretty creepy. What I would do might confuse, but here goes.

I work with animals alot, cats, dogs, birds, all kinds. Each leaves its own impression ... some are agressive, some nice, some strong ect ect. If I want to make a good impression, I visualise one of the animals that felt nice, kind, and strong, and I project its image around me ... not project as in glamoury, but the image as a representation of how I want to appear ... more of a gut feeling thing than an image thing.

If something like that happened to me, I would manifest the feelings one of the animals gave me ... in this case most likely predator, and I would separate it from myself, in essence making an artificial spirit animal, if you will. I would then send it after the thing that kept bothering me ... not to attack, but to show that i'm not deffenseless.

It made perfect sense to me kittiepoetrygod. :) And that is a good idea. Just beware, pay attention to what you feel when you see the figures. Go off of your gut feeling and try not to let your mind interfear with that feeling. Then go from there. I have had a couple of encounters with things like that ( shadowy figures and all) I am learning that the first gut response helps in figuring what they want. Sometimes it is good, others it is bad.

hmmm, I tried talking to them, but they're so brief, just quick flashes, i didn't get any response. I don't know what to do, I tried buring the candles and incense, but they don't seem to go away. I mean, they might be good spirits or something, but then again, they might be bad...

Maybe these "freaky" feelings are your instict's way of teling you to be careful. If they scare you then just tell them to leave. If they were gonna help you in any way they would have done so and not just kept flashing in the corner of your eye and refusing to talk to you. And tell them that too.

I asked about them & they're called Shadow People. She used to see them just out of the corner of her eye. Sometimes along a stretch of the highway. She has talked to other people that have seen these shadow people as well. My hubby saw one as he was walking by his truck. When he turned to look, the figure was gone. The general feeling is that you only see them from the corner of your eye. They dissappear if you try to look at them directly. When I asked my friend about them, she showed me a web site that had people posting about their experiences with these shadow people. You can do a search for Art Bell.

its funny you mention this, at work I hear ppl caling my name,
and I think i see figures too, and at home, one night I had my coat on the couch and went in the other room, when i came back in the room, my coat startled me as if it was a person sitting there ....*shrugs
