An, I guess a "quick and dirty" encyclopedia of gods and goddesses just for quick references/overview? Also, does anyone happen to know of a deity associated with deer other than Artemis and Cernunnus?

I'd suggest pantheon.org. I think is the address, it's either that or .com...It has good overviews for most things, but not the obscure deities, and not in-depth(and is sometimes a wee bit inaccurate).

Oya of the Ifa religion has the antelope as one of her associations.

www.pantheon.org and www.godchecker.com are two excellent virtual encyclopaedias. As to deer, I don't know any others off the top of my head, but try researching the Native American pantheons and obscure Greco-Roman and Celtic myths.

I suggest and recommend a fabulous book caled 'The Encyclopedia of Gods" by Michael Jordon. I was pointed it out on this website...and I ordered it through amazon...it is great! 2500 listings of deities worldwide. The online encyclopedias are ok, but this I would recommend over them.

You can't go far wrong with the "New Larousse Encyclopedia of Mythlogy" - impressively thorough

I second Galadraal's motion. Michael Jordan's book is by far the greatest single reference on deities I know of. One of my best choices from the history book club. In the back are indexes to look deities up by civilization or subject.
From said book, is an entry on Tatosi, a Huichol fire god who is also the chief god of deer.
