Well, as many of you know, I lost my job a month ago. I have been pounding the pavement since then and even turned up a few possibilities. I've had interviews, but no one has told me that they want me to start just yet. Now, it may be too late.

As of today, I have lost my furniture. 10 days from now, I will be evicted, since I do not have any money for rent. Unemployment has denied my claim, and the appeal process requires me to be able to be contacted by phone. That isn't going to happen, now that my phone has been turned off. I am not even sure if I will continue to have internet until I am evicted or not. At this point, it does not matter whether or not I get a job as far as these things are concerned, because by the time I get my first check, it will be too late. I have been unsuccessful in finding a welfare agency to assist me in at least keeping a roof over my head.

I am so damned depressed that I cannot think. My fog is back and thicker than ever. I don't know where to turn or what to do. I don't even know what kind of energy to ask for. I truly feel the worst I ever have right now. All I know is hurt and pain. I am sorry.

Sorry to hear that it's still rough. Trying to think of solutions. You could go to a temp employment agency and tell them you'll take any job right now. They prefer to contact people by phone, but you can just check in with them a couple times per day instead. There are places where you can work for someone and get paid the same day. It's usually general labor work. You go in to the labor office at about 6am with ID and sign up, then people come in who need a spare hand or two for various jobs. Usually everyone who signs up is working by 8 or 9. After the job you come back to the office and get a check. Friends of mine have done this when they've needed quick cash.

Also, there is the Help a Member fund here.

I hope this helps. I hug you.

energies sent to you. I know how you feel, We are going thru the same things right now. Semi did have some good ideas. There are places here called Labor Ready. You work and they pay you the same day. But you have to be quick about it. Are you a Veteran? The VA may be able to help too.
((hugs))

Yes, Labor Ready. That's what it's called here in NY, too. Thanks, Starbaby.

I am a Veteran, but the VA here doesn't do that kind of thing. They have given me medical attention. But they referred me to DHS for help with the costs of living and I have run the gammut with those fine folks. As far as Labor Ready, I am not currently able to provide general labor... between my weight and my knees, I have too much problem in just getting around. Thanks for the suggestions, tho. I'd be happy to try anything that I can. Also, thanks for all the energies you guys are sending.

Do you have a friend or relative you could stay with until you're back on your feet? I know no-one likes to do that, but maybe it would be the best thing at the moment. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

:hugz: Energies still coming your way to help you through this. Hang in there. Things have got to start getting better for so many of us soon! We will most likely be evicted soon as we aren't going to have the money for our rent the first either. You are in my thoughts and prayers. :hugz:

Where I live, social services will also help out for folks in emergency situations. If worse comes to worse, don't forget about section 8, for housing. Sometimes they will provide emergency shelter til they find you an affordable apartment.

May Divine Harmony and Prosperity be restored to your affairs, quickly!

I checked with the local day labor shop... all they seem to handle is manual labor. :( I also checked with the local Comminity Action Project. They screened me for several programs, and I do qualify for stuff like section 8, but the waiting list is like a year. There really isn't any instant fix for stupid situations like this in this area that I have found.

Argh!!! As if I didn't have enough on my mind. Ok, my unemployment has been denied. I have filed the appeal, but that may take up to 30 days. In the meantime, the job I really wanted and interviewed for last week contacted me to tell me I wasn't selected. This was a very disappointing blow. I had to let my furniture go back the other day, so now I am without living room or, more importantly, bedroom furniture. I am getting way to freaking old for this kinda thing. My back constantly hurts, now, for sleeping on the floor. I wanna know when this is supposed to get better. Much longer and I think I'll scream. I need a job, so I can get back on my feet and make it all worth it.

I am so sorry everything is going so badly for you at the mo. Do you have anywhere else to stay if need be? The way the benefits system works isn't much better over here (and I know all about sitting in those municipal grey offices with the plastic chairs nailed to the floor for hours on end only to be told you're not getting anything today. Grr)

Sending you some bright energy and hopes for a better tomorrow. x

Things. Change. Stress. Insanity.

Just a few of the things I have been going through. I wanted to report on how I have been and why I have not been around. As you can see, I ammm still here, and for the moment, I have internet, heat, water and food. I found a temporary job and I will have 2 weeks worth of pay at the end of this month, but do not know if I will still have a job. It is a great job and I enjoy it, although it is a serious cut in pay.

Right now, I am sick, I think I have that brochitis that is going around. It is horrible and with only 1 day for a weekend, I hope I can knock it out tomorrow. I know that there is a lot of stuff happening to people all over our board, here, but I hope that ya'll can continue to send whatever energy and good wishes you can. It has truly made a difference. Thanks to everyone who has already done so. I think I can see a speck of light now... I just hope it doesn't go out before I can get back on my feet. Thanks, again.

It's just that the job isn't guarrenteed after the end of the month. So much is up in the air. the day labor places I have found all do construction type stuff... and I am unable, physically, to do that sort of thing. Right now, one of the hardest things is feeling , as I seem to have caught the tulsa crude ....
