Well folks, it's my favorite time of year again!! The Crisp cool days, and quickly changing leaves. The pumpkins, the corn and the apples!!!!! What is NOT to love? Especially if you're fortunate enough to live in New England, like me!!!! heheheh. Each year, as soon as the chill enters the air, I start craving apple everything...apple crisp, apple pie, apple cider. When I was a small child, my parents would go to the apple orchards EVERY year, and we'd pick BUSHELS of apples, get hot, homemade cider doughnuts to eat in the car on the way home, and a BIG Jug of AppleCider. We'd munch on maple candy, too:) On the way home, we'd stop at a horse farm that my father used to work at, and feed some apples to the horses in the pasture.

So I guess all those years of programming me with apples, doughnuts and cider has paid off. Now I start craving them every september. And I start to bake, bake, and bake some more.

Oatmeal Raisin cookies,
Oatmeal-apple cookies.
Apple Crisp
Pumpkin Bread,
Carrot Bread
Corn Muffins....YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

And at night, if i can find Mulling spices in any of the local shops..I make mulled cider..yummmmmmmmmmmm...

I long to go on a hayride, since that was one of my favorite things to do in the fall as a child. But a few years back, in this town, there was a horrible accident involved with a hayride at a local farm. And My Husband is now a big poopy about it, and says.."We're never going on one of those..NEVER". Ha..he may say never..I simply say.."not while he's watching, at least". LOL.

What are your Fall Traditions? Do you have one place you like to visit each year? Do You start decorating at a certain time? have a big party???

Hey Danustouch!

Your post has gotten me in the autumn spirit of things! Up to this point, I had put off all the autumn decorating at my home because of the recent Terrorist Tragedies. This weekend we are taking the kids on an excursion to get pumpkins, corn stalks and to pick apples to make home made apple pies. Maybe we will be able to find a hayride somewhere. This time of the year I usually like to get my hiking gear out and hit the trails, and I went last weekend (to Dudleytown, CT), and now I am on crutches (sprained ankle/torn ligaments). Dudleytown is an old abandoned village (a ghost town) in Cornwall, CT and is supposedly cursed. Do you think the curse got me, he he he!

heheheh..glad i got ya all in the spirit.

Mysty...i think I posted something about Dudleytown in another thread you had about hiking/camping. Neahhhh..don't think the curse got ya. Don't think there is even a curse. It's just full of places where one can fall and sprain an ankle! :) Hope you recover soon!

if at all, I used to go take pictures of the forest or unusual shapes in nature or sky in Autumn. Used to hike, dont much now. And the seasonal craft stuff, usually with themes (thanksgiving, halloween, et.)

Color is the theme for Autumn, if you had enough rain that is.

Merry meet Danustouch,

Ah yes fall in New England, Vermont for me. I love it! Now that you mention I think we just might have to go see if the apples on my parents two trees are ready for picking, they should be. Maybe I can get the hubby to make an apple pie, or maybe I'll make some apple crisp, yummy. Oh and a stop at the apple barn is called for I think, I love fresh cider and donuts. And to think my fiance thought he was gonna relax today hehe. Ah, maple candy, I'm surprised I still have teeth with how much of that stuff I've eaten. I used to eat a box at a time or until I got sick, whichever came first, lol. Oh and we got to get our pumpkins and mums and corn stalks too.

Thanks for your post, it's gotten me into the full swing of fall activities, thank you.

Love & light,
