Well, what do ya know! It's been warm enough for long enough for the bugs the hatch and crawl around! I found a beetle in my window panes. He was stinky and scary so I just closed the window... It's supposed to get cold tomorrow so he'll probably die... He took his chances hatching a little too soon. We're having a warm spell, but I suspect it will turn cold again soon. Sorry little bugses!

Don't worry, they will only live 4-5 weeks before they die anyway.

He was stinky?? :foh: And how, may I ask, did you surmise that he was stinky??

was it black with a sort of gold back? if so, then it was a dung beetle and should be stinky. Otherwise, only the stink bugs (looks like ladybugs) are stinky.

By geting close enough to smell his stink... I wanted to look at him up close... and when I got close it smelled sortof sour... like feet, but not.

Because I wanted to see him. Scary in that I didn't want him loose in my room, but not scary enough that I wouldn't want to lean in to see what he looked like.

HAHA! 3 years since I began this thread *revives* but I have since had many such encounters with yucky bugs. Jumping spiders and house centipedes have since invaded my house. I have no idea what either of these bugs smell like, but I do know that the centipedes die upon my discovering them (if I can catch them), and jumping spiders get to live and eat other bugs! I adore winter for the reason that there are no creepy crawlies around to creep me out! All bugs get to live save the centipedes... They're just too fast, and apparently, according to wikipedia, the variety that have called the spaces in between my walls home are venomous (to the degree of irritation a bee sting might cause) and though they probably wouldn't bite me (they're after the other bugs) I don't want to risk it! They're so disgusting!
