I just saw something weird while driving to college. There was this car filled with anti-abortion stickers. Not just on the back bumper. The car was nothing BUT stickers. It was all over the back and sides and some even on the front I saw when I passed her. Some of the stickers were disgusting. They had what looked like road kill mixed with eggs or something. That is something I don't want to see at any time let alone early in the freakin' morning. It's weird, this is the first time I ever saw this car. I'm not sure what her stance is on that subject... :) Just thought I would share something without a point!

Hmm, im anti-abortion unless the woman was raped, or theres a risk of her losing her life. a child didnt ask to be broght into this world. this brings me to a question. so if its alright to abort the life on an unborn human who has done nothing wrong, then why cant we abort the life of one(s) who dosent deserve the right to live due to immoral behavior with out the courts approval?

lol.. out by my house there is and old guy that drives a van with a dead baby on top on this huge sign. then the van is covered in pictures like that... most of the pictures you can tell are not real abortion pictures since the babies look like 4 to 5 months old... but it always amazes me that people would do something like that. its one thing to have your beliefs i don't care but another to invade everyone by posting something big enough to see when driving down the road or whatever. I always worry about the children that see that. I couldn't imagine having to explain that to a 4 year old.

I have a friend that covered his car with stickers, but they're a hodgepodge of whatever he could find. He was always asking me to pick up bumper stickers from this quasi-occult store when I was home, even though he's Jewish. He did like the "I found Jesus, he was behind the couch the whole time" sticker. ;)

And its her body, she had it for the longest time. I believe it is a souless being anyway til it develops for 3 months. Would you rather it come into this world unloved and unappreciated?

I am pro-choice and I believe in the death penalty in therory (my only problem is that I am not convinced that every one we put to death is actually guilty) But usually, I find that people tend to go the other way. I have had LOTS of arguments with folks who think that it is ok to put people to death for crimes, but think that abortion is murder, I really have never understood this thought process.

I hope this thread doesn't start an abortion debate, but that's my stance on it as well. Unless it's incest or she's under 18.

Man I'd hate to see crap like that. What dose it matter to them what we do to our selfs? We are the ones going to hell not them. I feel for you and hope you don't see it gain.

Not to add to a debate, but I believe it is not something that can be legislated out of legality... It has always happened, not necessarily the way it does now, but in millions of ways... and if a woman ultimately doesn't want to have a baby she has carried, you end up with dumpster babies, or the equivalent...
it is not so much whether it should be allowed, as you really can't stop it just by changing legislation.

I'm pro-choice as well. I don't *like* the fact that it is used for birth control... but... ultimately, I feel it's up to the woman... it's her body, and it's her choice to live with... and who am I to tell anyone else what they can or can not do with their own body??? Heck, I'm sorry, but I'd rather see them aborted, then see them born and deposited in a dumpster, or grow up unloved and uncared for, or not given the proper attention, nurturing, and education, etc... and I definately think they have the right to abortion if there has been rape or incest, or if something is wrong with the fetus, or if something bad will happen to the mother if she carries it to term. But that's just my stinky opinion... take a whiff and keep on movin! lol =)

i think we need the courts intervention to stop vigilantes but i think the courts should use their authority to impose the death penalty on other crimes not just murder.. it should extend to pedophiles and child molesters too.. (i had better not get into my views on that topic are pretty extreme and not really suitable for a pg 13 site)
as for the whole abortion thing after carrying 3 children, feeling them kick move and grow inside me i could never under any circumstances have an abortion... as for others well i cant make the decision for them.. if someone wants to have one i dont want to know about it.. they are the ones who have to live with their decision and i dont want to be brought into it..

OK people, getting a bit off topic aren't you? It is not a debate, not about abortion, not about anything else. It was a topic about a car covered in anti-abortion stickers not your stance on abortion. Just wanted to be a thread nazi and point that out.
Now, on the subject; That is totally wacko. Whether they agreed with me or not, it's not a good thing when somebody is that obsessed about something. Not good at all.

Back on topic _inabox_
On to the subject of these cars, vans, bus.. depicting these images for anti-abortion. I think every city in the country has one of these driving around the streets. We have one here in San Diego.
While I believe in freedom of speech and expression. I also believe that I should have a choice of what I view, and what I am subjected to. Seeing this vehicle with the pictures of half formed fetus, is disturbing.. I don't care what side of the fence you are on, for this subject. And not to mention kids seeing this. This is not the kinda of conversation you want to have with your kids while driving to the mall. My daughter saw it when she was 12, we were in the car going some place. And she asked me "Mom why does that car have all those pictures on it?? That's gross , what is that supposed to be a picture of???What is abortion??" Of course being the open parent that I am I explained the procedure. I explained that some people believe its murder and others think its a woman's choice. Then I told her my opinion on the issue. I'm pro-choice. While this is not something I could personally do(I had my daughter when I was 17), I don't feel I have the right to make decisions for another. The other reason I gave for my position on the subject is the terrible things that happened when abortions were illegal, and the lengths women went through then to rid them selves of an unwanted pregnancy. I mean abortion is legal, now and woman are still going to some extreme lengths, to get rid of unwanted children :heartbrea . I also told her that I feel that abortion should not be used as means of birth control, abstain if you can, use birth control if you cannot.
I told while I don't share the opinions of people who are pro-life, its their opinion. Who can say they are absolutely right on such a personal issue? And I told her she would have to make up her own mind on the subject.
Also, even though I am pro-choice, it still disturbs me to hear about people having more than one abortion. People need to be more educated on birth control methods. I think incest and rape, and saving the mother,if the child cannot be saved, are the only reason I could ever consider having one.

Yeah, exactly one block from my house is a yard with a large "ABORTION KILLS BABIES" sign displayed year-round. I think they plant flowers around it, too.
Personally, I'm anti-abortion but pro-choice. My wife and I have not been able to get child #2 in a few years now of trying, and it saddens me that none of these aborted babies are given up instead to adoption. Yeah, I know it's the woman's choice (even though the unborn "mass of tissue" is only 1/2 hers), and pregnancy carries risks, but it would be easier to adopt if more children were given to that cause instead of to no cause.
In the end, though, women who don't want to be pregnant will get abortions, and I sleep easier at night knowing that I support having a trained doctor doit and not a clothes hanger.

It looks like it is turning out to sort be an air your opinion.. not likely a debate, as long as no one declares that thier opinion is the one and only truth.
Actually that is considered hijacking a thread. Which is a no no and not very nice. The beginner of a thread is the one who determines the subject with their post, not the people who come along and post off topic.
I know it seems like I'm trying to be a butt, pointing this out, but I'm not. It's just important with so many new members that people know how things go. It might not be officially in the rules anymore, but thread hijacking is disrespectful. What if they really wanted to hear the stories about vans with dead baby's on top, and everyone is just allowed to derail it and turn it in to a beliefs statement?

Actually I wasn't trying to take over the thread, but merely responding to the last post on the subject. I tried to stay on topic.. even though I did ramble a bit.. I did not mean to offend anyone.. :excuseme:

I agree with you totally! Isn't this a question of someone whose taste(um,maybe wrong word, must have been the reference to eggs) is questionable? They are free to express & I am free to ignore or disagree. Works for me! People who HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO annoy me. Fanatics scare the BLEEP out of me! I prefer that they DO advertise so I can keep track of them and avoid or(Godess forfend) attempt to stop them.

there is this church in my town that had an anti-abortion slogan on its billboard out front and the entire front lawn was nothing but small red crosses all over the place there must have been about 500 of them, no joke, the sign said something about overpopulation being a myth and the womb was god's cave of humanity, it totally weired me out.

I always thought the kid was in the womb. Not god. So if you are having an abortion, are you commiting deicide? Weird.

-sorry for being OT again- i agree, and I would rather see a child aborted, than bouncing around from horrible foster home to horrible foster home because the so-called foster parents just want to get a nice check for looking good by taking care of a child they couldn't care less about (i know this isn't always the case, but it does happen)
-on topic- Thats just disgusting. you can have your opinions and the right to flaunt them. but does the word 'tastefully' register on that person's radar? geez...
