I would like to hear opinions about astral projection and lucid dreaming and whether these two are actually the same thing. I have become lucid in my dreams many times and I could totally affect the course of the dreams. I could think of 'places' and just fly there and do things. Also in some of these lucid dreams just before I wake up I felt like I was 'landing' back to my body. These experiences feel more like an astral projection to me.

i had a very lucid dream the night before last... of course, it was a dream that i had before, involving a very evil lady in a wheel chair, and this time as i was about to let her roll into a pool, i thought about it and decided not to... (its a very random dream, but the story is actually pretty good...)

I agree. That being said, in my experience a lucid dream often precedes astral projection.

Is it possible to describe the difference?

And what about the difference between those two and OBE's?

Is it possible to describe the difference?

And what about the difference between those two and OBE's?
From the little experience that i've had, when i have tried astral projection i end up walking around the room (i.e. in the physical world)...so i always thought astral projection was an OBE....but then again i've also heard of other experiences where the person travels on an astral plane....so i'm really not sure. I think it might depend on the goal you have in mind when you project yourself, and depending on where you're projectiing yourself you could end up travelling around the physical world or the astral realm.

I remember reading up on astral projection a while a go and i read that you could end up travelling in the "real world" (i.e. the physical world) or in the world of dreams/the astral realm (where you could do many things ordinarily not possible in the physical world.) So in other words i think there might be a fine line dividing lucid dreaming and astral projection...and another fine line between astral projection and OBE's.

Another example showing the relationship of astral projection and the OBE i've read about was in The Mists of Avalon, my Marion Zimmer Bradley and other sources--where Igraine disobeyed the laws set down in the astral realm and entered the physical world (OBE?!?!) to save her husband, despite the consequences of doing so. I am not sure whether or not those same concepts apply to us...but maybe!!??

Can anyone with more knowledge on astral projection please help us with a possible answer to this question???
