Howdy. How are we all?
Ok, Im starting to look at the traditions that come from dad's side of the family (He was born in Latvia) and was wondering if anyone knew any info, books, sites, anything on the pagan orientated traditions from that region. I know thats a lot of area to cover, but its been hanging in the back of my mind for a while, and I have the feeling that Im not going to be satisfied if I let it drift. From what I've picked up so far, the energy seems so much more raw, and I relate to that. I dont like working with energy thats already been moulded, I prefer to do/use it myself. Im talking about very primitive stuff, the stuff that doesnt require 21 different types of insence, 60 gazillion crystals, more elemental guardians than you can poke a stick at and a complicated chant. so if anyone has any info they'd like to share with me, I'd much appreciate it.
Cheers, Cait
Lol, sorry bout being blunt. subtlety was never much of a strong point.

There have been a few threads about the Slavic path, so make sure you use the search function at the top of the board. I also found this site (http://www.wisewayz.com/) awhile ago when I was doing some research.

Here in Poland we have lots of books on this subject (folk magick, holiday traditions - it's surprising how many pagan customs survived in rural areas! - folk medicine and so on). If you are lucky, you can even get in touch with the Wise Woman (they are numerous especially in the eastern part of Poland - from which my mentor comes - and in city of Bialystok there is very strong esoteric center, with college and large and well-known publishing company).
Unfortunately, I don't know any English titles :( Check in your local library - they should have at least Slavic mythology.

Yes, there's loads of stuff on Baltic Paganism about, a quick google ought to bring you up loads of sites. Russian Paganism I'm not so sure about, though I know there are a lot of Pagans out there.
