Well...I don't have any kids. But I'm dating a guy who has a three year old daughter....wow...it must be tough for him, having been a single father since he was 20...

I have three, a daughter who's 9 going on 35, two sons 5 and 6. All are very bright kids. I've been their primary caregiver almost the whole time, and solo parent officially for over 3 1/2 years, though actually its more like 5 years.
Its a tough row to hoe, but I vowed that if I ever had children, that I would be there for them all the way up to the wall. There are many rewards though, as I have a much closer relationship with my kids than most dads get. I've been Wiccan for a few years now, and my daughter is interested and is showing she has the family gifts. It brings us closer together.
Having to be both mom and dad to them 90% of the time has meant that I've had to tap into all sorts of facets of my personality and have found inner resources that I didn't even know I had. I think that what I'm doing is the most meaningful thing I've ever done, and tell you the truth, I wouldn't want to give it up.
I can tell you that I understand both of my parents a lot better than I did before, and have immense respect for anyone who is doing it. People who think its not work, just don't know.
I think that my kids are the greatest blessing that Isis has given me, and maybe it brings me closer to Her, as She was a solo parent too. In all the trials and toils, I feel less alone.
Blessings to all solo parents Wiccan and otherwise.
May Isis bring us all comfort and love

I can vouch that EP is an awsome Dad. His daughter told me so and if she spots this thread she will say it herself.:)

EP ...................it's very rare to see a single dad.......but you must be doing a wonderful job if your daughter is willing to embarass herself to let the world know what a great dad you are (the embarrass part only applies if she's a teenager:P)
