I want a tattoo....

I've been thinking, and I've decided that I want to get a small tattoo of the Ace of Cups (just the cup and the water and light coming from it) from the Robin Wood Tarot deck. I think I want this in the middle of my upper back over my heart chakra.

Anyone else want a "Tarot" tattoo?

If you were to get one, what would you choose??

Hmmm, if I were to get a Tarot Tattoo (that just rolls off the tongue, eh?) I'd probably get the "Rebirth" card from the Sacred Circle card or "the Empress" from the Rider Tarot deck, as I do love powerful women.

I don't know! I don't want it too big! I just want it to look delicate.....so I was thinking maybe 3 inches high by an inch wide. I know it's a lot of work to get in that little space, but I think it's look Kickin'!

Id think really carefully about it though ~ but I know you must be already to post this! Cause you cant rub them out once youve had them done ;)
Ive always wanted a tattoo and on several occassions Ive actually gone into a parlor only to chicken out and think to myself 'what if i dont like it? & what will it look like when I get older? & when it starts to fade?'
Id try and find someone who can paint it onto your back frist so you can see what it looks like and keep in there for a few days so you can get used to it before you go under the needle.

Id love the star either on the base of my spine or below my belly button ~ im not sure what star card from what deck Id have to research really well as Im not sure I want a nakey woman on me for the rest of my life ~ even though she is really beautiful and my favourite card :d

I think that would make a beautiful tattoo!!I just recently found my sister after 33 years.I went to S.C. to meet her and we TOTALLY connected.So when I came back to CT. I got a Yin/yang tattoo.The left side that points up is fire and the side that points down is water.I found it to be very appropriate because she is a fire sign and I am a water sign!!If this tattoo has signifigance to you,then I say GO FOR IT!!!;)

My naval has been pierced for about 5 years now.

My tattoo is mostly that curly-tribal type design, with the chinese character's for "Pure Knowledge" in the middle of it. Then I had more added to the Tattoo, both above and below it. It's horrible to describe. I'll see if I can't get my son to take a picture of it tonight so I can post it. Anyways at the top of the Tat, I have )0( I had to get that in there!

Being that the tat is on my lower back.....I hardly ever see it. I forget it's there most the time. lol So, I don't grow tired of it! lol And I know if I get one in the middle of my back, I'll NEVER see it unless I make a point to look in the mirror, with a mirror! lol

OHh i love that one Dagda! I have a tatoo on my ankle about 4 inches long! of a dragon my hubby drew it(he's an artist!) when we were dating and then i got a heart with a rose behind it on my wrist! I was thinking of getting a tarot tatoo but i need to get tigger first somewhere! not sure where though!

Okay, here is the picture of the Tattoo I have right now. My son took the picture with my Polaroid camera, so it's a little blurry, but you get the idea! :D


What I'd like to do is get the little curving swirls like my lower tattoo very delicately put up my spine and wrap around a small Ace of Cups tattoo I want. I don't know for sure yet, it's just a thought....and it'd be a while before I got it done. ;)

I got it done seperately. I got the first one....(the part with the chinese writing {meaning: Pure Knowledge} that goes horizontally across my back) about 2 years ago. That one took about an hour and a half to do. The guy did an excellent job~!

The one that sits on top and the one below that I had done at the same time just this past February, at a different tattoo parlor. Those took about half an hour. I wish the guy would have took more care though, I have a little scarring and the ink "ran" a little from one of the cresent moons. So, as you can imagine, I won't be going back to that parlor!

Yes, that is on my lower Back. It starts just below the small of my back and ends on my tail bone. ;) :p I love my tattoo! :D

That looks really beautiful Dagda :D I love the 'pure knowledge' middle part and the dragons (are they?) at either end!

Have you seen the film the pillow book? I dont know why but I just got strong images from that film while looking at your tattoo :) If you havent you should ~ its all about Chinesse Caligraphy aswell as a love story :)

Your idea for the swirls up your spine meeting the Ace of cups sounds wonderful!!! :sunny: Im sure its going to look really amazing! Youll have to show us a piccie when you get it done! :D

Oo what about adding a few stars along the way too? They would look great in the swirls :).. Just my thoughts...

They aren't dragons, but I could see how that could be assumed. That part of the tattoo was just "Tribal" type work....Just shapes.

I haven't seen the Pillow Book. I'll have to see about getting it. ;)

The Pillow Book is an excellent film (although I havent seen it in a few years I still have such vivid images from it after seeing your tattoo) Its about Ewan err the scottish actor... meeting a courtisian who's famous (I think for caligraphy) they fall in love in secret and spend long nights painting each others backs with chinesse caligraphy ~ like tattoo's! Its all about love and obbession... but the caligraphy is amazing ~ Its really inspiring and so beautiful in a powerfully erotic way ;) ~ lol Ive always wanted to do that but never got round to it!..

If I were to get a Tarot Tattoo It would either be The Magician from the athurian legend Tarot or the Knight of Swords(which i have been told is my significator card by several people) from the same deck or maybe even The High Priest from the Witches Tarot
