Help me with a reading?

Hi All,

So I did a reading for myself and many times I have trouble with the interpretation because the subject matter is so close to home - it's me! hehehe So I thought I would post my reading and some of my interpretations or lack there of and you all could offer some feedback.

I did a Celtic Cross with no reverals and used the Robin Wood tarot.

My question: Being a new parent and working full time, energy and free time are at an all time low. I have been attempting to get organized in my life at home and at work. Getting things more scheduled, making to do lists, setting goals, but it's tough! So I asked is this a good idea? Is it all a wasted effort? Would I be alone in my efforts or would others support me? Am I going overboard? That kinda thing.....

Here is the reading:

Current situation: 2 of Wands - I see this as being at the begining of a new adventure. Building energy but not quite reading to make my move. All things are possible but the direction is not yet determined. At the doorway....

Crosses/Supports: Hight Priestess - In between the worlds. Kinda how I feel! This card is so connected to intuition and inner wisdom.... am I using mine? Am I not? I just don't know!

** I was totally struck by the commonality of the first 2 cards! They both show a person holding a sphere in one hand and another tool in the other. They are both 2's with pillars/staffs on either side of them. Interesting!

Below/Unconscious: Ace of Pentacles - On some deep down level I am wanting and needing to start a new path. One that is more practical, realistic, and on the home front.

Above/Conscious: The Devil - Ok maybe I am obsessing too much over organizing my life. Maybe it is more of a vice than a virtue???

Past: Wheel of Fortune - this was the easiest card for me to interpret! This card truly shows how I was feeling before I started to make some changes. I was feeling up and down, chaotic, and erratic. Like a roulette wheel (like the image on the card) of emotions and reactions.

Future: Hierophant - not sure how this card fits in?

Me in the reading: 7 of Swords -

Environment: The Fool - ok they all think I'm an idiot?? hehehehe Maybe the people around me are in support of a new begining, a new venture.

Hopes/Fears: 8 of Cups - this is one my favorite card images that I generally interpret as "going off to find what's missing". To find your wisdom and sometimes the need to abandon what is good (and bad) to make these changes.

Outcome: Page of Cups - well I usually see the pages are good cards and maybe this shows the start of some emotional fulfillment.

2 of Wands...not just a beginning of a new adventure, but which adventure to pick. Or at least how to go about your plan.
The current and supports are both 2's...so needed harmony, balance.
The Devil...does organizing and planning in some way make you feel "bound"? Maybe you don't see the freedom it will bring you.
The Heirophant as Future. You have something to learn...and what it may be is that "traditional" ways of dealing with things may not work for you. What you've done so far hasn't worked...try something new.
You as 7 of Swords...you are afraid no matter what you put your attention on, you'll leave something undone or sacrife something....and regret it later perhaps.
Fool I think also shows you do have the support, in a friendly carefree way...not in someone telling you "you must do this or that" way.
8 of Cups...also about leaving behind what isn't working...maybe it worked for a while so it isn't "broken"...but you're ready to move on.
Yes...I see the emotional fulfillment also. Probably because you have some time.

The reading adds up to a 5. The Hierophant again. So there are things to learn here... and so many Majors... This has to do with learning your limits. Limits on your time, commitments, energy. Yes this endeavor to organize and bring order will help. Emotionally and Spiritually especially.

Environment: The Fool - The fool card doesn't mean idiot. It means someone who is going forward with a fresh perspective, who has an open mind reading to accept things for what they are. Going through a spiritual journey.

Hopes/Fears: 8 of Cups - You are hoping to change your perspective on life. You want to find a deeper meaning in life away from the baggage of the past.

Outcome: Page of Cups - If you pursue your learning you will become wiser and more spiritual. You will find yourself to be more tuned to that artistic gift and be more knowledgable.

Thank you for the interpretation help! The only 2 points that need some clarity are.... The Devil: nope I was not raised catholic or even very Christian. I was raised very new age and have been Pagan for many years. No Devil hang ups here.

The Hierophant: You suggest to seek out a teacher for my path. Since this reading is about organizing my life in a practical way what kind of teacher would this be? My spiritual life is doing pretty good it's the housework, messy desk, and my 100 to go lists... Maybe I need to ask Brighid! _happydanc

Ok thanks for clarifying... Then the devil is about putting things off, you got to get off your butt and stop lounging in front of the computer ;)

As for the heirophant. That card may signify some time put aside for quiet reflection. In this case, setting aside time to clean!

I misread your original question apparently. So some changes...

Ace of Pentacles : New money. Start digging in that mess LOL

From what I see this whole reading is about seeking what you have been missing. I think its telling you to clean up and you'll find what you're looking for LOL.

The Devil This shows the negative cycle that has been going on. 2 steps forward and 3 steps back..You feel overworked,over tired, unappreciated and on your own..I get the sense that you hare or have been irritated or angry with someone..like you have been handling everything..you want to shake off this negativity..i do see this passing..but, it will linger for a bit.

Wheel of Fortune This card is showing change...showing the forces against you at the moment..The main force against you is being bogged down in plans..things will work out as they evolve...Not all aspects of your life can be controlled by you..this is where that feeling of wasted energy is coming from...

6. Hierophant You will be establishing a family structure going to have to let go of the past. Your attatchment to how things use to be. You have a feeling of loss regarding your old routine..move forward and stop fighting your path..adapting means change and letting go of things that no longer work in your current situation..you are making more work for yourself..organize your life but not from a desire to have your life run as before..you will only become discouraged and physically exhausted. Don't let yourself be overcome..

In this day and age we are told that we can have and do it all..that we are wonder women..guess what its a lie...to get your life going in the right direction its going to take time..I see this card warning you not to take on more than you can handle...this is not the right time ..your not ready or prepared to change everything..you need to build a support system and cut out the things that are making your life more difficult..let go of the things that are not beneficial..you need to really think about what is important and go from there..Sometimes we think people should know how we feel or see we need help..They don't. Sometimes we need to tell them..

Amazing interpretation! Thank you so much! Everything you wrote was completely on the mark.... this is truely in the interpretation I could not give myself LOL Why is it so hard to see the cards from your own eyes?!?

Yes, I am frustrated to all ends because I had my life a certain carefree yet organized way for almost 35 years. Getting married and having a baby completely changes it and although it is a blessing -it's a shock to your system. I struggle and waste energy trying to recapture what was. I think I may go to extremes sometimes hoping that perfectionism will fix everything in one big swoop. My husband is counteracting every move I take to either balance me out or get me to calm down. Unfortunately this frustrates me more and leaves me feeling totally alone and unsupported. 3 steps back.

So this is why I wanted to consult the cards. I think my desire to organize my life is important and meaningful but I can tell my route is not a clear or smooth. Is life saying abandon the path or just change the route? Now with this reading I see that I must create a new path not recreate the old one. Starting down a new path that may have never existed before is damn scary.... guess I better not get impatient and expect some trial and error along the way.
