Corrupt Cops Used Black Magic
Police in Venezuela Used Black Magic to Evade Investigation

Police in western Venezuela have been accused of trying to use black magic to kill state prosecutors investigating a series of murders, reports Yahoo! News. Venezuela's National Guard were called in to the small rural disctrict of Portuguesa after the region's governor could no longer guarantee control over the police force.

National Guard troopers occupying one police station discovered grisly altars with photographs of the state prosecutors investigating the murders placed faced down amongst burning candles and images of Christian saints. "They were using black magic... trying to cause the death [of the state prosecutors] through supernatural methods," explained Isaias Rodgriguez, Venezuelan public prosectutor. Rodriguez also revealled that the prosecutors had received more mundane death threats.

Whilst Reuters and Yahoo! News reported the incident as one involving Witchcraft, it should be noted that these clearly black magical activities involving elements of Christian worship have no connection with the modern Witchcraft religion of Wicca. Portugeusa is a predominantly Roman Catholic disctrict and no use of Wiccan imagery or practice was reported.

that kind of thing is fairly common down there and the further you go out in the bush the more common it is. the policia nacional are a fairly high quality outfit in terms of people, training and equipment (at least back when i worked there) but the village cops reflect the population they are drawn from and range from pretty decent to useless. they weren't my problem though, i worked with the military.

I don't really know how true it is seeing as I'm not the one who wrote or did the research for the article, but I figured i'd let all know what the rumors were and those whom chose to do so can research the validity of it:D

Personally - I think it's up to the person posting to do some research beforehand, and decide to ppost or not based on research.
