I recently received the Robin Wood tarot deck- and I love it.

However, the 7 of pentacles, seems odd to me. All the other cards depict people either naked or with very "pagan" clothing, but the man depicted on 7 pentacles, looks like a modern man from Texas or something. It is the single one card, that hurts my eye every time I come across it. The 4 of cups has a bit of that too, but especially 7 pentacles.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I just got this deck a few weeks ago and haven't had much time to look at it, so I had to go check it out. ;) His hat is definitely out of place, and his hair seems too modern too. His shirt isn't very modern, though. 4 of cups looks like a pirate, not a pagan.

I recently got this deck also...I thought he looked like the woodsman in the snowhite cartoon...that is what came to mind when I first looked at it...

I also noticed while flipping through this deck that the 2 of wands shows only one wand distinctly...if it wasn't for the number 2 on the card..I'd be confused...the picture appears to be cutoff... :flowers:

I've met robin wood in person before and own one of her pieces of Art and took one of her tarot classes. I will ask her the next time I see her.

This card just came up in my reading.... and I noticed the same thing. It does kinda bug me because the image is to striking with the person standing between the staffs as if about to enter a new "gateway". Having one of wands almost edited off the card doesn't do it justice.

Also the 5 of swords is funny in that it's an intense card of defeat usually depicting broken swords but in this card the image in the forefront is one guy who appears to be laughing in a very "hahaha I got you!" kinda way. His expression is so well drawn but maybe not one I would have picked.

All in all I LOVE this deck and feel the images are very rich and clear.

I love this deck too! It is funny how some of the cards can strike you a certain way...Now the more I look at the 7 of pentacles..the more he looks like Donny Osmond.... :alol: I also see what you mean about the 5 of swords.... I have had this deck only a few weeks but it has become my favorite...

Hehe. He looks like Indiana Jones.

My thoughts exaclty when I saw this card for thr first time. I remember looking through the deck, getting to this card, giggling and saying "Look, it's Indy..." I think it's the hat.

Another card that seems out of place to me in this deck is the 8 of Wands. Something about it being in outerspace just seems out of place when compared to the rest of the deck. I understand why the artist chose it, but to me it just seems odd.
