I would've said something earlier but I haven't been on much. I don't know about y'all but southern California has been threw a humdinger(sp) of a storm. Last night was probably the worst storm I can remember being in. Granted it won't be as bad as some others, but by this California boy it was bad LOL. Seriously the thunder(when it woke me from sleeping) sounded as if a plane was coming through the apartment. Then we had horrid lightning. I did that counting thing, it was a good distance away but it was so loud and so freaky lol lil paranoid me couldn't sleep until I finally told myself, "Okay well if you're gonna get killed you can't do nothin about it" lol. finally I got to sleep but jeez it was horrible. Its said to be the worst on monday. *le sigh*

I get excited from storms like that. I remember one storm I was in up in WA, the thunder made the windows shake ... that was scary. I live in central CA and we haven't had any storms like that, just lots of rain. I guess I'm just one of those people that like gloomy weather hehe.

Just...out of curiosity, what area of california do you live in. If you dont want to post it here, PM it to me if you want. We had thunder last night, so loud it shook the whole house and lightning was touching down literally across the street

i love storms.. the more thunder and lightning the better..we had one here today it was great.. it just didnt last long enough if you ask me.... summer storms are about the only thing i like about summer..
on a side point i read somewhere once that the rhyme rain rain go away was actually a spell.. someone just turned it into a kids rhyme.. how true that is i dont know but it is a pretty balanced spell if it is true..

I live in Phoenix Arizona and I've never seen as much rain here as I have this year. It's been raining for days now, I'm kinda getting worried now. Granted we NEED the water, but wow it's just insane. I keep wondering if someone moved me to seattle when I wasn't looking.

I love storms! Tornados are a big rush too! But I checked out the weather channel and you're right! California isn't suppose to get rain like that! I just can't believe people would actually build their house on the side of a big freakin' hill knowing that it could go at anytime from an earthquake,mudslide or fire. :rotfl: The insurance alone must be outrageous! _witchball Well,good luck!

Northern California isn't much better. I have all the dang ants coming in through every crack they can! I so want to move back down to Southern California, even if it IS raining right now. My friends down there have been compaining about it, too. Having to cancel fighter practices and archery practices, and having to work security in the rain...

I miss the storms. I mived from the east coast and they have wonderfull storms with tons of lightning and thunder and strong winds.
It was such a rush when all the lights went out and you filled your house with lit candles and watched the storm.
I miss the way the storm looks as it bears down on you, dark purple skies...
I miss sitting out on the yard watching lightening dart across the sky before the rain startes.
We don't get storms here so much, just the pitter patter of gentel rain....sigh

I'm scared of thunder storms when it gets too loud, and I'm afraid of lightning if I'm outside. If I'm in a car, I'm usually fine, though.
The reason I'm scared of thunder, is due to when I still lived in Weiser. We had a two/three story house made in 1918, made of stone (cement/concrete/Idon'tknowI'mnotamason), and when it would thunder, it would literally shake the house. There was one night when my parents were in their room watching TV and I was in the Living Room alone. The TV wasn't on, and I was just walking in to get something, and the thunder boomed and the house shook so hard! It scared me so bad that I ran into my parents room and jumped onto their bed with my hands hiding my head. (I was around 16 or 17 at the time ^_^; )
The reason I'm afraid of lightning, is that I was running across this corn field to try and find my Fiddle-friend during Fiddle Festival, and as I was running through it, lightning struck the field that I was in! I freaked out and ran back to my house crying, thinking I was going to get hit by lightning. ^_^;;;;;;
I absolutely love snow storms, though. ^___^
