I was in my Native American History class this morning. The instructor was giving an example. Witches among the Iroquois. (not in the European since). He likes to use us for examples. Like this side of the class is the Native Americans, and the other is the British. That sort of thing. Or he'll point to someone and say, you are John Smith, now you blah blah blah...
He looks at me, and basically says, now you are the witch...goes on with example, constantly using me as the witch
ME: :weirdsmil (trying not to laugh)

on a side note, I consider myself pagan (leaning towards Celtic and Wicca), not a witch

Wow that's pretty interesting. Did you at all during that time think of telling your teacher that you were Pagan and not a witch? Just curious.

No. I didn't see the need. It was just an amusing coincidence. I don't exactly "look" the part.

that's too funny...:)

but hey, its better than being completed outed to the entire theater class (like i was a few weeks ago). the play we are reading is about the feminine divine and the obsession with it by men (most men). well, there was a part in the ending of the play that had it listed as 'maiden, virgin, hag' instead of maiden, mother, crone...so i HAD to correct it before rewrites began on the play.

when i said something, one of the guys in class said "Are you a witch?"...um...what do you say to that here in the bible belt????? see, my professor knows all about my beliefs, we've had long talks and the play was basically written for me (because he's having the class for me, i had to have it to go forward w/my degree program)...luckily he interrupted and said "she's just well read".LOL

it was HILARIOUS...after the fact!

the same thing happened to me in my theatre class, were were just given random parts to practice with, see what we could do with it, how well, all wtihout lines. I was cast as the crone over a bubbling cauldron :hmmmmm:

and no one at my school is aware of my beliefs. lol

That would be an awesome class to be in. I would be the halfling ranger/barbarian with a +3 strength bonus. I would be called "bloodletter" and ogres would fear me. Uh, in Jamestown VA of course.
