oh my i know about sleep deprivation.i'm more bothered by constantly being woken up because you can't get deep sleep.they say you need 6 hours continuous sleep for normal brain function.um yeah now my daughter was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia at 4 months and was a colicky baby up till then.at four months she went into a body cast for 3 months and a full time brace for 5 months.so with the cast i woke up every 3 hours to position and change her they left a little hole in the cast for pads and changing very not fun.and in the brace she was so used to waking up she kept her horrible schedule never mind it's probably not that comfortable having your legs in a frog position forever.so after a year of waking up every 3 hours i think i was hallucinating lol.she kept the brace for another 6 months at night but i had to force her to sleep the night for her health and she was past infant stage.my second one slept through the night at 4 months, she loves sleep.lol everyone used to say wow you must be tired after i had my second one.i'd say no i'm still tired from my first because she was still very stubborn going to bed lol.i resort to coffee if i start slugging around in the morning it really helps.it literally gets me moving.good luck.

Sleep? Whats sleep? ;)
Do a general search on James Mckenna - he is an expert on sleep and babies. He has a sleep clinic for mums and babies at University of Notre Dame, so as to better study their sleep patterns.

LOL!
You'll all be amazed at how soon that cycle turns and your getting woken up in the middle of the night all over again.
Dad... my car broke down, can you come fix it or give me a ride?
Dad... I'm feeling really sick to my stomach... what should I do?
Dad...
Blessings,

I guess its a good thing I am still getting up and checking on everyone, letting the cat in/out and turning out lights the last one up left on - I wont be out of the up-at-night loop when the teen years hit. ;)
