Hi all
I'm having extremely bad back cramps right now. Can anyone tell me anything good for back pain? is there any herb for muscles or anything like that? lol I'll do anything to avoid IBprofin, especially since it doesn't really work for me.
Thanks!

If you want to do things herbally - then willow bark is the original sourve for aspirin. Also, make sure you are getting enough magnesium in your diet.

Arnica gel. Arnica is wonderful for aches and pains. And now you can get it in a tube and can use it as a rub ~ directly onto where it hurts.

I just made up a batch of salve for back pain. The capasin in red peppers is really good for back pains. Try infusing 1 tbsp of ground dried chili peppers in 1/4 cup grapeseed oil in a glass. Set the oil in a double boiler & simmer the water for 2 hours. Don't let the oil get too hot. Strain out the peppers & stir in 2 tsp of grated beeswax. Put the glass back in the double boiler & stir until the wax melts. Pour the mixture into a clean container & let harden. Test the salve on a small patch of skin first for any reaction before using. Make sure you wash your hands really, really well after using...this stuff can burn your eyeballs off! :p Ask me how I know! :p

The capaisin in red peppers helps to trigger your body's own pain relieving endomorphins. For really quick use, buy a red pepper, mash it up & mix it up with some cold cream or hand lotion. Use that on your back. Again, test a patch first.

oooh ok!! ^_^ thankies!! hehe I'm not good at cooking at all (if you have ever heard of Akane from Ranma. . . think of that), so I think I might screw up your lovely recepe hehe I should be able to pull off the red pepper and hand lotion thing though

And don't forget to wash your hands really, really well after! :p
The recipe is quite mundane. You can add to it by lighting a green candle for healing before you start. Treat it like you would to perform a spell. Invoke the herb energies to assist in healing or banish the pain.

If you can get someone to give you a massage you could use tiger balm (as far as I know it does not contain any tiger products anymore, but helps non the less).
If not available, mix your own oil/cream for your back:
take an oil like olive oil, sunflower or almond oil, whatever you like and support (100 ml)
mix in essential oils of following plants
10 drops lavender
10 drops clove
10 drops rosemary
5 drops campher
This is a very effective mixture
lavender helps you relax
clove is a strong pain killer
rosemary makes the blood flow better
campher helps the blood flow as well, and also purifies
Hope you ll get well soon, otherwise I have great experiences with accupuncture. It helps a lot .. maybe you give it a try ?

hehe thank you!
One of my friends is an acupuncturist, I babysit his daughter a lot. He says I should probably look into it (my health insurance covers acupuncture at their clinic).
my back has been hurting a bit less (I've been taking some chinese herbal stuffs. . . also from my friend. He and his wife have studdied chinese medicine for YEARS. . . so they're really helpful ^_^). But I really appreciate all this info. I would love to try some of this out with my mom (she's got arthritis in her back, so she'd prolly love it).
thanks again!

hey CzechWoods, what exactly does "Namaste" mean?
hehe something I wanted to ask everyone. I recently got a bottle of scented body oil. It's scented with something called "Ananya", and I noticed that if I rubbed a little into my back when it was hurting, it would hurt less. I don't know if it's simply a coincidence that I belived in so it worked the next time, or if it's actually an herb of some sort. It smells very nice, a tiny bit like a vine flower. I'm not sure. ^_^ I like it.
Lemmie know! hehe

namaste again,
the meaning of the word namaste (my fav greeting)
namaste comes from sanscrit. It translates to:
I greet the divine spark in you
or simpler:
i greet the God/ess in you
Namaste is not only a word. It is a whole philosophy and gesture.
You slightly bow your head, while your hands are pressed slightly against each other in front of your chest (not folded into one-another, alike christian prayer gesture)
By bowing your head you lesser your ego
By having your hands pressed on another in that described position, you keep your aura with you.
Thus you hinder your aura to mix/influenceget influenced by the person/s you greet
Such a greeting, comming from th heart is a very peaceful experience.
You have so much respect and self respect not to bother anyone with your aura (and thus your achievements and problems)
now compare this to our shaking of hands!
;)
i will browse through my files; i think i have somewhere a longer interpretation on namaste, i have found online...

here are the meanings i found on my files from various sources online ...
Namaste! Namaste: An ancient Sanskrit understanding: I honor the place in you in which the entire universe dwells. I honor the place in you which is of Love, of Truth, of Light, and of Peace. When you are in that place in you and I am in that place in me, We are One.
i hope this is of some help
Blessings

You could make a tea of raspberry leaves and lavender. It seems to work well for me!
