I really need to just get this out

Ok I donate over 24 hours each week to my daughter's pre-school because I know they can use all the help they can get.
They are short staffed b/c one of the teachers needed to get surgery on her hand. But lately I'm doing not only the absent teachers job, but the head teacher and the nutritionists job.


And that doesn't really piss me off because if I ever wanted to get certified as a pre-school teacher or teachers aid they'd concider the time I've already donated as part of my credits.

Now they are trying to kick my daughter out of the pre-school because they claim she's not caught up on her shots. (she only started a month ago) . Now is it just me or shouldn't they have caught that BEFORE school started. They looked at the shot record less than a month ago. She's only three and they're trying to tell me that she nedds her 4 yr old shots.

Not only that but I've sent my daughter to school with her hair down and she comes home with her hair braided. I've seen the nutritionist hair done with my daughters hair barrettes.


These people are driving me @#$* crazy.

Agreeeeeed, that would make me angry as well...And yeah they should've caught that shot thing when she started...Duh!..Just take a deep breath and realize that not all people have brains unfortunately..;)

Keep one friend there to act as a reference, and just go. If they want to shoot themselves in the foot, well, why stop them? Hell I'd even help by telling them how to disable the safety, load the ammo, etc.. :)

Can you get a dr to state that for a 3 year old she is caught up on her shots?

Morgaine (my daughter) has an appointment for November 1st. Her doctor just called and we discussed her shots. The doctor feels that she is caught up but she wants me to bring in the copy I have of the shot record and she says that if Morgaine doesn't need any other immunizations then she will refuse to administer them and she will put it in writing for the school.


So cross your fingers that everything worls out:)

It looks like these are symptoms of a badly run school maybe? Have you tried to find out if there are any complaints against this school on file? i assume since its a pre-school they should have to be licensed by someone, I would check there.

The school is state funded and the are (I believe) all over the US


It's called Head Start


There's a number of "insubordinations" that I can get them on if I really wanted to be vindictive.


The cook doesn't wear glove nor a hairnet while she's preparing nor serving the food.

Those two alone would shut down the center.

HELLO! that is not only a violation of the heath code but it is dangerous, especially when you take into consideration the fact that 3 and 4 year olds are eating the food....

If its Head Start, I doubt you could do anything that would close it or get them into trouble. They're a gov program and alot of people depend on it and its ultimately a good thing when it works right but they can be understaffed because there's a shortage of teachers everywhere. I would still report things that are not right there but do it anonymously. I don't honestly know if it would get resolved but at least you could say you tried.

I would report about the hairnet thing though. That's not right and you could get them to fix that! But the glove thing doesn't mean anything. I know people who used to be in the restaurant business and it may look cleaner to the public but washing hands often is actually much cleaner.

Do you pay for this pre-school? I would high-tail it out of there if I were you, but not without a fight first! People should not undermine you the way they are. They sould have some respect for the people who volenteer thier time and they also should not be messing with your daughters hair! I'm sure there is a lot more to this. Not to sound paranoid or anything it just all seems suspicious. I've seen some situations like this before and they tend to escalate. Good luck! And remember they need you more than you need them!!
