Lavender growing

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but does anyone know if you can grow lavender in Ireland? I'd like to use lavender in herb bags, but it's impossible to get in shops.

I don't see why not. It would depend on what zone you're in. What kind of weather do you get? How cold does it get in the winter? Even so, you can wrap up your lavender plants in the winter to protect them. I do that with mine. You can also grow them in pots & bring them closer to the house to shelter them in the winter time.

I'd have thought so, I mean I'm in Newcastle, England and mine grows fine.
