Hmmmm..well..my initial thought was since Samhain is the beginning of the Waning time of the year..it would be a time to banish things. So..not good. But on the other hand, you could view it as banishing your former life. You could start it on the Spring Equinox...so that you'd be in the Waxing time of the year, to draw your new life toward you. Or..you could do it at Yule, which is the Rebirth of the Sun, which would also be a symbolic rebirth for you. So really..i think it's all up to you. Personally, I think of Samhain as a time for reflection upon loved ones who've passed. Kind of a mourning period. But..each person must do as they feel called to do. If you feel that you're being led to do your initiation then, then by all means, do it :)

Dude, Samhain is our Pagan new year. Great time for starting new parts of your life IMHO - maybe if you agree with Danu you could banish your past status as a non Pagan while journeying through the gate of being a Pagan. Know what I mean? Great stuff, I'm excited to hear about this Mist :)

I think it would be depending on you and what meaning Samhain holds for you. All the above are great reasons. Ostara is good for rebirth & Spring!
