View Full Version : Energy for a peaceful, passing.

One of our, 8 month old, kitties wont be with us long. We finally got the news that his liver is defective. Somethings not doing what its suppose to. He will just weaken and pass on. We didnt have him put to sleep because he isnt in pain and the vet believes he will just weaken and eventually fall asleep and pass. Since he shouldnt hurt, we would rather let him pass in his time, at home, with us.
He is sleeping almost constantly now and since we know why, we just let him be and made him a special bed. We pet him and talk to him because we believe he knows we are here and can feel that we love him.
I just wish his passing to be as gentle as possible for him and us.
So any energy you can send to help Sky and us through this transition, will be very much appreciated.
Thank you all.
*Update, Sky passed at 6am Saturday morning. He was awake and meowed to us so we came to him and we were all together, the whole family, critter and human.

Awww Shanti! :wah2:
Give the litte guy a pat on the head for me too! With all the love in your house, I'm sure his passing will be fine. And you've done a right swell job of teaching your little ones about these things, so I'm sure they will be fine too!
But I'm sending extra :hugz: anyway! And a big one for you! :hugz:

Thanks guys. Its a slow process. Now that we know its just a matter of time, we are concentrating on his comfort. Its hard for us but he seems to be content here. When he sleeps, which is most of the time, and we pet him, he purrs. And his brother, Moon, who was smaller than him, and now is bigger, is constantly checking on him and lays with him.
Mom cat and sister, Luna, dont seem to notice anything but Moon and Sky were buddies and always together. Moon knows somethings wrong cause Sky doesnt play or do anything anymore. Moon seems a little depressed without his buddy to play with. He doesnt try to play with the girls. The girls play together and Moon just watches. I guess its not the same for him without his buddy.
The kids understand, glad there old enough to explain it all to them. Their just sad. They spend time just sitting and petting and talking to Sky.
In one way its good to have time, in another, its really hard.
Especially when you can see that each day he is a little weaker, eats hardly nothing, and is loosing weight fast. Its like he is shrinking away from us. Yet, he still purrs, still licks your hand, and still 'holds' your hand. Then you see the sweet sky still inside the failing body.

Oh Shanti,
I'm crying my eyes out here. Poor little Sky. I will send all the energy I can muster for an easy transition for that little sweetie. I will also send some energy to his buddy Moon, the poor little guy. Aww, this is breaking my heart.
Much love and strength to you and all.
Blessed be....

:hugz: Shanti. One of my cats died a few days ago of kidney failure - he wasn't even two yet. My two remaining cats are a little lost now, but especially my dog, whom the cat used to try and suckle and snuggle up too. But they're adapting, especially since they're getting lots of fuss from us. Moon will adapt too.
I hope it's quick and peaceful for little Sky. At least you can take comfort in the the fact that he's had a good home.

I can't think of a better way to leave the world than surrounded by those that love you.
What a lovely family you have.

Oh Shanti...
I'm so sorry... I know how precious all those fuzzlings are to you... I recall quite well all the hardships you went through with them.
I'm so glad, though, for him and you and your family, that he was awake and called to you, so you were there with him and he was surrounded by his family. And you did give Sky one of the most precious gifts a companion animal can have and many aren't lucky enough to get--you gave him a place where he was very much loved for his entire life.

Shanti,
I'm sending you so much love. Little Sky had a wonderful family full of love. Not many have that. He's watching over you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you.
I had a wonderful re-assuring dream last night.
I was looking all over for Sky. In the house and then out side.
I couldnt find him.
Then a crow came and landed just 2 feet from me, on the proch railing. He flapped his wings, crowed, while looking into my eyes.
I knew at that minute that Sky has already started a new journey. Then the crow flew off and disappeared in the blue sky.
I smiled, gave up my search, now that I know Sky has moved on, and I went back in the house.
I woke up feeling very comforted.
