Mine are: Robin Wood, Sacred Circle and Buckland's Romany Tarot. :D

I loved the Arthurian, but I just couldn't read from them, so I traded them off for the Sacred Circle deck. ;)

I recently got the Sacred Circle deck, and am very much in love with it. Years ago I had another deck, can't recall the name of it, but my baby daughter decided to use the cards to teeth on them!! I have the lone survivor card, the Empress, framed.

I also have the Sacred Path cards, a native american deck, that I really like also.

Boy do I feel off the wall...

My favorite decks are the Cary-Yale Visconti and Visconti Sforza fifteenth century tarocchi decks, the Florentine Minchiate tarot (because it has all the astrological signs, plus earth, air, fire, water, hope, faith, charity, etc., some ninety cards, I think, repros from 1725 or something like that, and the Albano-Waite deck.

The Albano-Waite is the one I do personal readings with. The other three decks are just three of my favorites because they are so lovely. I collect tarot cards, so have a big assortment.

I just saw the deck I want to buy in a store for the first time in the month I've been looking for it - unfortunately they only had the copies that came with the book (which I don't need, since I already have the workbook for it) and it was $80 !!! So I called the store closer to here and the lady said their order should be in by the end of this week (even tho she told me the same thing last week and the week before) and she has the deck by itself, and she thinks $80 for both is pretty strange. *whew* Oh I'm talking about the Goddess tarot btw :)

Hope you manage to get the Goddess Tarot soon :)

Ive got ~ The Secret, The mythic and the Sacred Circle.. my favourite out of the three is the Secret ~ It just totally calls to me and draws me in but I tend to read more with the Mythic for my friends.. and I have been using the Sacred more for meditation recently.
Id love to get Buckland and the Nijinsky Tarot at the moment :)

i have many, but really only use the 'Thoth' deck (Swiss printing). i think it is amazingly complex, and after using it for years, i still find something new in it everytime i draw. i know many people have issues with Crowley, but once past that this stands up (in my opinion) as the greatest deck ever!
i also have 'The Magickal Tarot', which i love (also based on the Book of Thoth), but i think it's out of print. this is a serious reading deck, and not very pretty, but amazingly powerful.
in addition, i have;
the Visconti Sforza (you've got to explore the sources, right?)
Rider-Waite
Haindl (beautiful deck, and great books by Rachel Pollack)
Arcus Arcanum (with the 'Prince Valiant' like artwork)
the Arthurian Tarot
Legend; the Arthurian Tarot
the Celtic Tarot
the Dragon Tarot
the Enchanted Tarot (interesting companion book)
Wonderland (not much good for readings, but hey, it's Alice!)
there's also a few mini decks on my shelf, and a couple of 'oracles' i rarely use.

i find the 'theme' decks fun, but it always seems that eventually the theme conflicts with the traditional archetypal symbolism, and (unfortunately) for the sake of continuity the theme must win out.
i've long been intrigued by the approach of the Robin Wood deck (i LOVE the Devil), and will probably pick it up soon.

Though I only have the Rider Waite deck right now (the store I bought them from didn't have much of a choice at the time), my faves are the Diamond Tarot and the Spiral Tarot. Though I have seen a 'Stick Person' Tarot somewhere, has anyone else seen/own this one??

Lots of favorites - but the ones I use the most are:
Universal Waite
Halloween (I'm using this all during Oct - love it !)
Legend:Arthurian
Tarot of the Old Path (my first deck)

Other's I've got that I use occasionally:
Celtic Dragon
Arcus Arcanum

Decks I never use anymore, but keep to try again in the future:
Motherpeace
Universal
Voyager

And I'm going to be buying the Black Tarot by Luis Royo for my husband - mostly for the artwork - he likes that sexy warrior women stuff...

i hear alot of people scoff at 'the Halloween Tarot', probably because of it's cartoon imagery, but i think it's pretty well done and very usable.
as far as art decks go, there's some beautiful ones out there. my dear friend has the 'Salvador Dali' tarot. absolutely beautiful! 78 original Dali images, with gilt edges and in a leather box ($100!).
but i wish Dali had known a little more about the tarot before doing it.
the same could be said of the 'Gieger' deck. twenty-two very beautiful (and disturbing!) images that really have nothing to do with tarot. a nice collectors item though.

Currently I'm using good old Rider Waite, and the Tarot of the Spirit, which I find very rich and accessible.

Used to own the Voyager Tarot, and would like to replace it someday.

there is something appropriate about the Rider-Waite deck being used by someone who quotes Yeats.

Wow Great to see it so busy in here :D

Storm and Green ~ you both have loads of great decks there!

Ive also seen the incredibly beautiful Dali deck ~ my friend has one too & the book to go with it which is very rare apparently and so fascinating! Gold Gilt ~ Ooo! I would so love one as Dali is one of my all time favourite old school painter's & I think he did the tarot justice ~ I thought all the images fitted the cards, minor and major very well.

Does your friend want to sell there's by any chance ;)

The decks I use most:

Robin Wood Tarot (Favorite, by far!)
Rider Waite (First deck)
Sacred Circle (still getting familiar with it, beautiful celtic feel to them)
Buckland's Romany Tarot (still getting familiar with it, beautiful gypsy-lifestyle cards)

Other decks I have:

Cosmic Tribe (crowded full of symbolism, but and figures are real and they are nude)

Witches Tarot (Nice feel to it....but I like an old "feeling/looking" deck)

Dragon Tarot (beautiful art work, but not too practical for me to use for divination)

Tarot Classic (not bad, but the minor arcana are designed more like a deck of cards)

Zolar's Astrological Tarot (has description at the tops of the cards, but I find the deck impractical for me. Some newbie's to Tarot may like it for a bit until they learn the traditional meanings and outgrow the need for the descripts.)

I also have Dream cards....but don't really work with them.

I just got a phone call Wednesday from the mystic shoppe, the decks are in, and I'm picking up my Goddess Tarot tonite!

The funny thing is we were just in Chapters the other day and I almost picked up a deck there just because I was getting frustrated at not having the new deck I wanted. I'm glad I didn't now! Yay!

as i said before, i have a number of decks, and i am obviously interested in tarot.
but when it comes to the Thoth deck, this interest becomes a passion.
i know alot of people have issues with Crowley, but if you can just let go of the fact that the man was an absolute prick and see his work with the tarot as essential, you may be surprised at the depth of this pack of cards.
and we must not forget that Lady Freida Harris had more than just a little to do with this. a fascinating woman in her own rite (she had to have been a saint just to have been able to work with him for over five years!), she was very much into transcendental math, and this shows heavily in the Thoth tarot. for more info on her and her interest in projective synthetic geometry, see;
http://hungry.piranho.de/claas/olive_e.html
you may see the Thoth tarot in a whole new light!

I love the Thoth deck as well, and the Shapeshifter's deck. Those are the two that I'm working with. I have quite a few more, as I also collect them. I've also always been drawn to the Handl deck, but never really liked it for readings.

I thought I'd re-animate this thread.

I read with the Rider-Waite for all my online readings at TABI (http://www.tabi.org.uk/)
and I've just got the Robin Wood Tarot (I fell in love with the artwork) and I've got the Goddess Tarot on order.

Any of our new members got decks they love??

I've got a Faery-Wicca deck that always seemed to work well for me, a Unicorn Tarot deck that I got because I love unicorns (but the deck itself has never been one that I connect well with in a tarot reading sense), and then there's my Egyptian Tarot deck. I love this deck to pieces. It's beautiful and works very well for/with me.

Right now I only have the fantastical tarot... I know a loto f people don't actually like this deck but the artwork is incredible in a cross between cartoon and abstract. The back of the card is a reverisible picture of smilin dragons and they always amuse me when I'm shuffling because I get the feeling like the just ate a crispy tid bit. The cards have a gold edge around the face though it's not gilt and all the cards have some sort of illustration. The reason I bought the deck, though, is because of the aces. All of the aces are gorgeous and speak to me really well. I'm in the process of looking for another deck to use as traveling deck so I can leave this one at home.

I am very fond of my Robin Wood Deck, I must say - the imagery always gives me the details I need.
I started with a Rider-Waite, but the first deck I really, truly worked with was Hanson roberts - which I like a lot, but mine has a wicked sense of irony. Then I got an Aquarian deck, which I still use for no nonsense readings.

Recently I got the Froud Faerie cards, and I've found them to be very insightful, but I had to make up a spread on my own.

I also have the lovely Italian Tarot Art Nouveau, but I simply can't use it - I can't really read the images, they're pretty, but they just don't speak to me, and I hate the king cards - they all seem so sexist. . .

I've got a Rider-Waite but I don't really care for it. I really love my new daeck, The Mythic Tarot, and only got it because it was on sale for $8. It is based on Greek myths and is fabulous. I love it!

I really want the Cat People Tarot, The Thoth Tarot, The Palladini Tarot and The Rennaisance Tarot. They have unique personalities and the art is wonderful....

The Celtic Dragon
Very nice artwork and it just called to me.
Plus it was realy scary because my mother actualy let me buy it! She had always told me i couldn't bring anything like that into the house. I guess it was because i was buying it and I was about 19. :D :loveduv:

My two favorites are Robin Wood and Shapeshifter. I usually read with the Robin Wood deck because its images speak well to me. Some of the Shapeshifter cards are very evocative and beautiful, but there are several others that leave me cold and some that I can't stand. I use the Shapeshifter in spell work. I'd really be great if I could find that *Perfect* deck, but I think that's a myth.

I tried to learn with the Rider-Waite for a while, but I never really connected with the deck. I recently purchased the Goddess Tarot and absolutely love it!!! I got the workbook with it, and it has been a wonderful spiritual journey working through it. I just connected with the images immediately. And the cards are so beautiful! :)

The Vertigo Tarot...I'm a rabid, drooling Dave McKean fan, and his art perfectly represents my idea of the Tarot; symbolic, dreamlike and personally interpretable, without being anywhere near cliche or boring.
I also wish the H.R. Giger was a full deck, (pun implied as needed ^_^) because his artwork is so very visceral, and again symbolic without cliche.

Hi,

The Goddess Tarot is my main deck, my first deck...I looove the Goddess Tarot. I knew it was "my deck" after it had been "calling" me for several months and then the final push was one day when I had my aura read and the woman saw an owl on my left shoulder (and a crow on my right shoulder). Athena is on the front of the box with an owl on her left shoulder. My fav card in that deck is the Sun card...the Star card is also reaally beautiful...and the Ace of cups, and...

I haven't counted lately, but I think I have about 8 decks...Morgan Greer, Thoth, Animal-Wise, Wheel of Change, Osho Zen...I generally use the Goddess Tarot or Animal-Wise. Very into animal totems.

Blessings,
