The Supreme Court ruled yesterday that there cannot be a nativity scene in
Washington, D.C. this Christmas. This isn't for any constitutional or political reason. They simply have been unable to find three wise men or a virgin in the nation's capital. There was no problem, however, finding enough asses to fill the stable!

A ten year old was doing very badly in math ...... in public school ....... so bad that his parents .. desperate to try anything..... placed him in Catholic School ......
Immediately his grades shot up to B+ and A and A+........... his parents were really puzzled as to what made the difference so they asked him .... "Was it the prayer .. the nuns .. the curriculum ??" The young person anwered......
Well.... I didnt really CARE about math before,or think it was important .... but when I got to school and saw that guy up there nailed to the PLUS SIGN.... I knew they meant business ...........

realistically speaking (as someone who was in catholic school for 8 yrs) because they're separated from the state they tend to focus more on teaching religion than the academics :(

As someone who attended for 12 years........
I found a great deal of difference in the change of Order of Sisters..... The School Sisters Of Notre Dame were very strict .....rigid and punitive in my experience ....
The Sisters Of Mercy were practically licentious by comparison.......... And early on in High School when I discovered that there was more to the world than the Catholic version .... and began to think for myself and question things I got into big trouble.......
One simply was NOT SUPPOSED to ask in a class on discrimination and racism ... WHY there were NO BLACK STUDENTS OR TEACHERS in our very own school at that time .. or be so crass as to point out that the ONLY BLACK person in the entire school was a Black Janitor .... not the custodian mind you who was white and wore a uniform, but the janitor who did all the really dirty work.......
tsk tsk ......Got me in very hot water ..... to the principals office ...... you know......again. and the abortion discussion thing barely over .........tsk tsk tsk ........
not much "Mercy" in that principals office ..... LOL But the academic curriculim was excellent ..
