I have been dealing with a lot of negativity and chaos in all aspects of my life for about the last year. Everything from my career to my marriage. Recently some things have come to a head and made me realize that I need to get rid of the negativity that is taking over.
My first step is to cleanse my home. This is where we spend most of our time and I feel like it is a breeding ground for negative energies lately.
Secondly, I want to do a personal/spiritual cleansing.
I have never done either of these. I have searched MysticWicks and found some really good threads. For my home cleansing, I am going to start by thoroughly cleaning the house from top to bottom; getting rid of clutter. Once that is done, I was thinking of smudging each room with sage and I purchased Amazonite stones to place in each room. I was also thinking of sprinkling water with sea salt around each room.
As for the personal/spiritual cleansing, I am not so sure what to do.
If anyone can help me with this...give me some ideas or insight, I would appreciate it.
Thank you!

Hi Misty Kitty!
It sounds like you have a sound plan for cleansing the house.
You can use all the same things for self cleansing if you like.
However, as there are a thousand and one ways of doing this, you may get a more interesting answer that will have more personal appeal to you.
Blessings,

How about a warm, soothing herbal bath. You could use lavender, chamomile and sea salt - all soothing herbs. Light a white candle and set it on the rim of tub (careful not to set shower curtain, towel or bathroom frou frou afire!!). Relax, meditate on the candlelight, picture negativity and confusion leaving. Picture it coming up from your toes, thru your body and right out your head and clear out of your house. As you get deeper into your meditation hopefully you will see clear skies, peaceful areas and happiness coming towards you, entering thru head and filling your whole body with peace and calm. Hmmm, that sounds nice to me, I think right after this I will go do that myself.

Well, it sounds like you got a pretty good Elemental cleaning going, I might suggest a lit candle in each room of the house, to represent Fire? You already have the other 3...
The way I "power-clean", so to speak, is by using each of the 5 Elements in turn to fill and cleanse the object/space. This works for inanimate as well as animate. :)

Warning; written without my glasses on so I can't see much...
other then what was already said Usually to rebalance I do a chakra cleaning and balancing and do some meditations and visualizations. Also to get rid of the chaos and negativity in you life you may want to write down things on paper that youw ant to rid your life of and burn them. or if burning is not an option write it on toilet paper and flush it down the toilet. then write down what you want to replace the things you just released and keep the list handy reviewing as often as you feel necessary.
I also recommend reblessing your house, I like to take oils and put them on top of the doorway.
to remind you also of what you want to bring in your life perhaps take a pouch and fill it with things like images or guides or things that represent you and what you want into you life. crystals, herbs, word cutouts etc
also keeping flowers out if you can afford it is nice. I put them out thinking of the new oppurtunities blooming in my life and throw them out as I visualize them wilted becuase they have absorbed negativity that has come my way.
theres probably more but I got to run to bed.
good night and good luck!.

Some things are so simple. Negativity is so easy! Its much easier to be negative than positive sometimes so we should look at easy solutions, too.
Grab a piece of paper and write down everything you dont like about yourself and your surroundings. Put everything down!
Now fold up that piece of paper and take a black marker or something and draw a circle on it. The circle represents what negativity does to us. It makes us run around in circles instead of making actual progress.
Now, slide that baby into your back pocket and carry it around with you where ever you go. Anytime you encounter a negative thought think of it as a simple pain in your ass because thats alll it is. Move on with it. After about a week take that piece of paper and burn it.
All done. Move on.

I think I'm going to use these suggestions too. I've got a lot of negative energy harboring inside me that really must go. Seems like it's the perfect time of year to do it too -- what with Ostara and the rebirth of everything. Kind of a spring cleaning for the mind and spirit, huh?

Love mol's idea!
As for the house cleansing....I do what you're doing basically but I also do a walk outside the house with light candles for fire, salt water and salt goes around the house as well and I carry my trusty old drift wood wand and put my raven feather in my hair or carry it with me too. I also cleanse the house with my fiance. Both of us saying good bye to things which makes a crazy and we do not need. We feel good, energized and have bonded afterward.
