Palmistry, Lesson Four, Your Thumb
The Thumb is an important indicator in palm reading. You can determine a persons mental state by the position of their thumb.
For example, when a person is depressed, they tend to tuck their thumb into the palm of their hand. This also indicates a person who is insecure and unsure of their place in the world.
When a side view of the thumbnail is apparent (this is when the palm is relaxed, you can see the side of the thumb nail), this indicates a person who is in control but easy going.
When the thumb nail shows to the back of the hand (no nail is visible when the hand is held loosely palm up), this indicates a person who is self-disciplined, persistent, consistent, and narrow minded.
The Mount of Venus is found at the base of the thumb. This area allows you to determine physical strength and development.
A well developed Mount of Venus and base of thumb indicates a person in good mental and physical health, and is resistant to disease.
An underdeveloped Mount of Venus and base of thumb indicates a person who is prone to illness and easily manipulated.
The first phalange of the thumb (top) determines a persons willpower. The shape of the tip of the thumb suggests in what way this person will use that willpower.
A long first phalange indicates a person who is strong willed and intelligent.
A short first phalange indicates a person who is likely to be athletic, and combines their physical and mental attributes to get through life.
