I stored some of my art stuff in my 2 drawer metal file cabinet.. It's old but I dont want to damage it to get it opened. I have NO idea where I put the keys to it and I want to grab some of my pencils out of it! AHHHHH. I tried to pick it with a screw driver and my bobby pin but im just stipping the metal with the screw driver and Im getting no where. Anyone know how to pick a lock and could teach me? :hmmmmm:

You may be able to slip the screwdriver into the top of the drawer and prize it open? It'll bend it slightly but it can be knocked back into shape?

But my disclaimer is that, if you try it and it doesn't work, I am totally not responsible LOL

O.k. , I haven't tried a lock like that before, you could try calling a locksmith to see what they would charge. If you could bring the cabinet to 'em, it would be cheaper. Good luck

Can't you use some sort of telekinesis power? There's no excuse now.

I'll assume it's the key on the bottom kind.
I got a tin box bank as a gift once, and the person didn't realize they keys were gone off it. So I had to pick it myself. Granted, it was a small lock....

Paperclip.

For that type of lock I have found a hooked metal nailfile and a large paper clip to manipulate the tumblers works well.

What Yvonne says.Be careful though,I picked the lock on a small safe box my parents gave me and the entire lock ended up falling off somehow :doh2:
