Does anyone have any information on the sluagh fae? I think they're Irish...but not exactly sure.

They are Irish fae. The sluagh are the equal to the wild hunt. Often people thought of them as evil spirts that stole the souls of folks on their deathbeds. They are vaguely human-formed, but often have tentacles, extra heads, decaying body parts, small,d ark eyes and other delights.
In many ways they are like boggins or redcaps and are considered part of the Unselighe Court. Like any fae, they will not go out of their way to harm you, unless you give them reason to do so. Some consider them fallen angels.

"In Irish folklore, Sluagh are the spirits of dead sinners; sometimes the spirits of pagan ancestors; usually troublesome and destructive. They fly in groups like flocks of birds, coming from the west, and will try to enter a house where someone is dying to take the soul away with them. West-facing windows are sometimes kept closed to keep them out."
This is from wikipedia, that is a basic definition. If you would like more in depth info, let me know....

Well, this is more of a curiosity thing...I play Changeling: The Dreaming (a White Wolf roleplaying game) and was just curious as to the real side of each of the fae in there.
Sluagh sound interesting.

They are also found in Scots Gaelic folklore. The slaugh are thought to be those souls who when caught in the Wild Hunt are found to have not lived honorably and are thus rejected by the land are doomed to roam the air for eternity as slaugh. The slaugh are said to be members of the Unseelie Court.

I know based on the spelling, the sluagh obviously have Celtic roots but I seem to recall them having something to do with Russia or Eastern Europe, too... is this true or am I just imagining things?

I can't say I've ever heard this, but then I'm not an expert or even more than barely literate in Russian or Eastern European lore. Sorry!
