About Greenwitch in the Hospital..

Hello Mystic Wicks, Friends of Greewitch,

My name is Joe and she asked me to come here and let you all know how she is now, and to keep you all up to date about her condition.

Today was supposed to be her initial entry into the hospital and tomorrow would have been her surgery, but last night she was having strong pains in her chest, her heart decided to fail, and refused to pump blood properly through her system.

So her surgeon was called in at 2am, and at 2:30am she went into emergency operation.

She is out of surgery now, and is stablizing in the hospital. They had some slight difficulty at first, she began bleeding excessively in surgery, but they managed to stop it, and finish her Heart Transplant.

Her father and I are hoping for a very speedy recovery for her, and we recieved some of the mail that has been sent to her, she'll get it when she has recovered a bit more. Thank you all here for your support, she spoke of nothing else before she went in for surgery, you have no idea how much more confident she was about all this. I'm sure she'll come onto here and Thank you all a million times over once she is better.

I'll be coming back on here every two or three days to tell you how she is.

I know you might want to wake her hun... to make sure she is ok ... but they will have her sedated for at least 24 hours if not more while she starts to heal ... this way she is resting and getting better and not putting her body through anymore stress than need be .... not sure if it is the same in the States as in Canada but if so.... she should be in ICU for a couple of days then moved a CC bed for about another week where then they will be sending her home as she will be more likely to catch an infection in hospital than at home ... then physio begin for about 6 months - 9 months til she gets stronger .... she may be sedated but she knows your there and can feel your love ... that is what really matters ... _pounce_

She is still in a comatose state. We're all a bit anxious here, doctors themselves are a bit edgy, Greenwitch is prone to infection and her unconsciouness could be a bodily response to it. She is still stable, but if she doesn't wake within the next 12 hours or so then we really have something to worry about.

Doctor's were beginning to worry that perhaps there was an infection brewing, or that the amount of medication they were giving her had been too much- the latter was the case.

Greenwitch is healthy and conscious- she's in a lot of pain and is still very very tired, but she is indeed alive.

You should have heard the first words out of her mouth when she saw me.
She said "Joe haven't you shaved? you look like shit..." all I could do was smile.

Thank you for all of the energy, it seems to be working! I told her about all the support and caring coming from you, and even in her discomfort of the hospital (she hates hospitals, plus the surgery) she gave me a big smile.

Her father and I are anticipating her quick recovery, and she seems to be doing very well. Again thank you all so much for all of the support, and love, and energy. She can't wait to be on her feet and kicking again, neither can I.

I am sorry to hear she has an infection ... as for time off work ....talk to her father and the DR's about being a support person for her ... if they agree they can give you a note and your work can not say anything .... sometimes an extra person there is the difference .... trust me I am going through the same thing right now with my hubby ... but I have Epilepsy .... so I want to be his main support person but with the whole stress of it I might not handle it very well ... so his parents will also take the time off work ... so JD will have 3 support people ... it was explained to us they do not have to be a blood relative just willing to go through hell for ya during this trying time... I can see you care for her by the updates .... I say talk to her father and then if he agree's to the help go see DR's, that way your work can not replace you while you take a day off .... :smoochypo ... thinking of you all while GW recovers :hugz:

Greenwitch is on lots of medication, lots and lots of medication, for pain and for the infection, and just to keep her immune system up. She seems to be handling all of these things very well, and is slowly but surely getting better. Hopefully she'll be out of the hospital in the next two weeks, though I'm sure I'm just being very optimistic, somehow I doubt that is a bad thing at all.

Greenwitch wanted me to give you all a HUGE HUG for all of the support, she read some of the mail that was recieved for her, and shed a few tears.
She is very thankful, very thankful, for all that you have done, for those who took the time to send her a little something- hugs and kisses from her as well.

Hopefully my boss will let me off the hook for the day tomorrow and I"ll be able to give a somewhat "detailed" update on her. Til then-

I've snuck away from work today, it's my lunch break and I'm gonna let you in on this next one...

Greenwitch is doing very well, they're screening her for any more infections today, they did one late last night and she was pretty cleared up, they're doing another one today along with x-rays to make sure her new heart is all in working condition.

She's turned her hospital room into her sort of bedroom, just not as messy, but all the cards are up on the wall around her so she can see them every day as she wakes up. :thumbsup: (<<< hey thats cool) Like I said in my previous post- Greenwitch sends lots of hugs and kisses and love back to you for being so supportive while she's in the hospital. And she sent a special message to a few people..

Pilot and Serenity- write something magnificent for her to read when she gets back here, and as always keep rocking out to the Metal \M/

Amberwolf- the gift is beautiful, she loves it so much and is arguing with the doctors to allow her to wear it right away.

AuntBoo- keep up your crazy antics, and keep stalking too, and don't forget about the wedgies that all the new people need as a reminder they are loved. And something you should try- dancing around madly in your undies, gets all the craziness up and going strong.

Her father has had an issue with drugs in the past, and apparently it has started up again. He was admitted to the hospital because of those same drugs that he supposedly had quit.

So now they are both in the hospital, Greenwitch getting steadily better, she's unaware about her father as of now, the worries and stress this would cause just after getting over a serious infection would set her back further, but I hope the doctors will tell her tomorrow, or allow me to. Her father is unconscious, he had his stomach pumped and a blood transfusion because his system was so overloaded with whatever drugs he had taken.

I swear someone has got it in for this family, either that or some seriously bad karmic reprocusions.

Anyway thats the update now, hopefully it will be better, but I have to get some sleep.

So now they are both in the hospital, Greenwitch getting steadily better, she's unaware about her father as of now, the worries and stress this would cause just after getting over a serious infection would set her back further, but I hope the doctors will tell her tomorrow, or allow me to. Her father is unconscious, he had his stomach pumped and a blood transfusion because his system was so overloaded with whatever drugs he had taken.

I swear someone has got it in for this family, either that or some seriously bad karmic reprocusions.

Anyway thats the update now, hopefully it will be better, but I have to get some sleep.

Joe, sad news on GW's dad. It is so hard to cope with stress for someone who has used drugs to cope in the past. It's as if they don't know any other way to deal with bad new and serious situations. Many times folks who have been sober for a time do almost OD due to the changes in the street drugs or their tolerance lessening. I hope he recovers and gets the support he needs. Please remind GW that she has our support and we wish her well. Warm hugs and lots of universal energy winging to you all.

There is SO MUCH to read, here at MysticWicks, that I just stumbled across this thread last night. But, only tonight have I had the time to sit down and read the many, many well-wishes and updates about GW's condition. I am astounded at not only her strength and endurance in all of this, but also the tremendous outpouring of support at MW. It is obvious that she is VERY MUCH LOVED!! Thank you, Joe, for keeping us updated (even if some of us have gotten the messages late :( ). I, too, am sending energies to GW and her dad. I'm knew here at MW, signed on about 3 wks ago(?), but GW is one of the names that I know from reading posts. I sure do hope everything is going to be alright for yall...

Anyway, my prayers are for GW, her Dad, & for you, Joe, this nite... :hugz:
