 This guy wants any yahoo with a gun and a license to be able to shoot feral cats... I think the folks at http://www.dontshootthecat.com/ make some good points.. I believe that if there is a problem with the growing number of feral cat colonies in the area, it should be dealt with by Animal Control or another state agency.. Humanely as possible, I mean what if the hunter didn't kill the animal and just winged it and got away... that poor animal would suffer.. What do you think??

Well I dont know the laws where you live are..But the laws here in Pa are real strict on animals..Cats you cant kill or harm them because they are concidered wild. You dont own a cat,the cat owns you!...If you feed a stray cat or even if its the next door neighbors cat,you take the responsability, and libility of the cat(food, vet ect)..even if you say your cat is yours and a pet,if it gets out of the house, someone can claim it,and nothing you can do about it,cause the cat can roam free and chose where it wants to live...Stinks...As for dogs, you can own and take full liability for them, they have to be on a leash at all times(unless you live in country)..You must clean up after walking them or be fined..You may only shoot and kill a dog if it is attacking you or chasing after Deer, then you must do your best to find the owner and inform them what happen, even if the dog is hit by a car..They take being cruel to animals here to heart, very strict Commonwealth not a state..If we were a state I know it would be a worst hell now that it is..If lets say someone hit you and you dont wanna press charges against the person thats your right, but the Commonwealth picks up the charges and your screwed either way...Pa is a big money making place for anything they can get their hands on...

Funny you bring this story up. Just the other day, a coworker was telling me he heard a story on the news about a state that is considering passing legislation (or ordinaces or whatever) that would allow people to shoot stray cats on sight. He couldn't remember the state or the source of the story, but he's an honest fellow so I've no reason to doubt him (although he might have gotten the details wrong). I wonder if it's this story.
In any case, it's really sick. I have serious issues with anyone who could so easily and violently kills a defenseless animal and not feel bad about it. To me, that says wifebeater, child molester, serial killer, etc.

Some people are just blood thirsty evil little bastards of a cowardly nature that have to get their rocks off tormenting a creature that weighs less than 15 pounds.

That's pretty horrible. Stray cats shouldn't be killed. It's not their fault that they're stray. Maybe if people like him would take them in that could be changed. His request his stupid and horrible.

I have a shocking idea! Why doesn't everyone spay and nuter the cats? I mean back home we have a program where we catch wild cats, spay or nutter them, then we set them back where they were. If you remove a cat from it's colony then ten more will perudce, so if we fixed as meny as we could then there wouldn't be THAT meny wild cats left! Just a thought, and another thing, how can you be sure that it is a wild cat and not someones lost baby? Or maybe someones barn cat? It's a good thing I don't live in WI.
